  1. Brutally hot in DC today. We scoped out the venue this morning and there is an entrance from the Gallery Center which is inside and cool with several places to eat/drink. Guard said the entrance will be open for the show. We are going to go to Bar Louis in the Gallery around 4 pm for a bite and glass of wine if anyone wants to join us in the A/C. So excited!
  2. Hang in there, Ariel! I'll be there on August 1 as well, sitting with my friend Tom (his first Coldplay concert) in section 102. I'll look for you and wave!
  3. Packing for DC myself now! I'm bringing my friend who will be experiencing her very first Coldplay show. We are up in the rafters unfortunately (section 404, row C) but I will be wearing my blue Coldplaying shirt that I had made for Lollapalooza last year, with my Coldplaying name on the back. If Miller and crew are drifting around maybe they'll spot us and will upgrade us. Hope to see some of you other Coldplayers there!
  4. May I just say... Chris, you don't have to point, we know where to look.
  5. This is a little frightening because so far I have conceded to all their demands. I guess the hypnotism is working.
  6. Happy Father's Day to Coldplay and Coldplayers Here in the USA it is Father's Day, so I would like to wish Chris, Jonny, Will, Guy, and (for the first time) Phil a very happy day! Also Happy Father's Day to all you Coldplayers who are dads, especially Ian! Have a wonderful day!
  7. Remember the "Postcards from Far Away" project? This could be "T-Shirts from Far Away."
  8. I am suddenly visualizing Chris being pelted with T-shirts while onstage, instead of bras. Maybe we should each get him a shirt from our hometowns. He could do a virtual tour of the world via shirt.
  9. Hi, Arlene! Thank you for helping to look after our boys!
  10. Hmm... since we have a theme going here, thought I'd share this one:
  11. Since Will may be lurking and this IS page 42, I thought we'd better bump him up. Hi, Will! Here you are on 2 June!
  12. Thanks for sharing all the backstage info, Jen and Ian! You made me feel as if I had been there with you (and man, I wish I had been). No one deserves the VIP treatment more than you two!
  13. "Take a rockstar to work day..." TOO FUNNY! Thanks, Ellen and Row, for the great picspams and the captions! The nail varnish story was hilarious! Hugs to you both!
  14. Congratulations, Ellen! So proud of you!
  15. Hi, fellow Chrissygirls, I attended the Coldplay show at The Emirates on Saturday and, with my friend LongLiveLife, managed to get front row! It was a magical night and I was soooo close to Chris. Here's a photo of him waving to us as he flew by: But what I wanted to share with you especially was something I learned on the way over. I cashed in some air miles on Virgin Atlantic and flew Upper Class, where the seats fold down into flat beds and you have a nice foldout table to eat your dinner on. The flight attendant asked me what I was going to London for and I told her "I'm seeing Coldplay on Saturday night with a friend." The flight attendant got so excited. "I had Chris Martin on one of my flights," she said. "He was SO lovely. He was so nice. He insisted on putting down his own table and his own bed!" She told me that on that trip Chris was on his own, not traveling with family or any of the band. So I got this pleasant warm feeling thinking about how wonderful our Chris is and how people speak so well of him. It made me feel strangely proud. And then I got another warm feeling thinking about what it would have been like flying from the US to London with Chris in the next seat......and sleeping in the next bed.
  16. I think the "trailer" part is just part of the video concept - I was joking about the movie, I am positive there won't be one!
  17. There are so many comments about "no story" but to me there is, indeed, a story in the video. However, since the video is intended to be a "trailer" for something else (note the first couple of seconds), the story doesn't have an ending. Here we have two characters who once were deeply and purely in love. They were of one mind (hence the forehead-touching) - "on the same side in the same game". However something happened to lure the female character away from the values they shared. She has embraced wealth, glamour, and thigh-high red plastic boots - quite a change from the virginal white of her previous costume. The male character remained pure but still feels drawn to his former love. He seeks her out, fighting his way to her, and is appalled to see what she has become. She tries to tempt him ("could've been a king, could've had a castle, worn a ring"); he remains strong. But both of them reveal instances of weakness and yearning for the other. The cliffhanger is - will she succeed in bringing him to the dark side? Or will he make her see the error of her ways and win her back? We'll have to wait for "Princess of China: The Movie" to find the answer!
  18. Traveled 22 hours yesterday and made it back home with so many wonderful memories! I went to the show with my gig buddy LongLiveLife! We met up and arrived at the venue around 12:15 Saturday, finding ourselves 4th in queue. After a long day of standing in the cold wind we made the mad dash into the stadium and across the pitch (quite a scary thing!) and managed to get front row! It was truly a memorable concert. I agree with those who mention the thrill of hearing "99 Problems" and knowing what's coming up. And then to have Jonny walk up right in front of you and to think "Wow, that's really him!" And then Chris and the rest...there are just no words. My buddy says they must do a rain dance right before each show but I honestly didn't even realize it was raining until they moved to the X stage and I watched Guy playing with the rain soaking him. And they still gave it 150 percent. And at the end I managed to score a set list - I promised that I would not tell who the giver was, but it was a wonderful surprise. So many people have posted pictures vastly superior to mine but I'll share a couple: Here is a view of the Xylobands from up front. It was gorgeous. And the moment when Chris ran past and waved at us: Will hammering away at the Viva bell: Guy and Will thanking our side of the crowd: And the final bow: Souvenirs of an unforgettable experience!
  19. Traveled over from the US arriving in London this morning. Clocks was the first so ng I heard on the radio and the ow as I sit in a King's Cross pub The Scientist just finished so I feel blessed. Will listen to night and oe there live tomorrow. Cannot wait!
  20. Hi, everyone - I'm traveling from the U.S. to the 2 June show! Will be meeting up with a couple of other Coldplayer friends the day of the show - we have standing tickets so I hope to see many of you there! I'll be staying near St. Pancras station - anyone want to get together the night before? Maybe we could find a place to listen to the Absolute Radio coverage!
  21. Welcome! It's great to have you amongst us Chrissygirls!
  22. Don't worry, Ariel, you won't faint. You will feel the greatest exhiliration you've ever experienced once they hit the stage and you are sharing space (and air) with them. I promise!
  23. I used StubHub to get a ticket to the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Vegas last year. All was smooth, no problems, but now its name is being included in the reports of some of these scams. I thought StubHub guaranteed everything but maybe not. Now more on topic, thanks to everybody for posting the great photos and videos! This looks like one of the best shows ever and has gotten me even more excited for the 5 shows I have coming up! And Dianne, congratulations to you! You're a fellow fan to be proud of.
  24. This is the photo that is on my Coldplay calendar for the month of May. It's in my office. And they really expect me to get some work done during the month. Really.
