A L I E N S, Moving to Mars, and Atlas fit well in a MOTS playlist. Fit more along with the space theme than a lot of songs on MOTS too. but then again initially Everyday Life was pitched as a "double album".

Playing vinyl records takes effort. The quality of the record you what to play matters. The quality of your turntable , stylus , speakers will also matter. You can have a great setup, but a terrible pressing of a record or a cd / digital sourced pressing isn’t going to sound amazing. for me I do enjoy the work that it takes to listen to something. I have many great memories looking at records , pulling out the inserts from cassettes and cds. Vinyl has obviously been making a come back these last 10 years but with streaming services for movies and music , and physical media on the decline it was a good connection for me. that a brief summary for my experience with vinyl. Also the plural of vinyl is vinyl ?

I have paid close attention to this album cycle and press interviews, but when Chris mentioned handwritten note anyone else consider this being their last? I am not getting that sense in regards to anything else, but am getting that feeling from a few years back. that would be terrible timing to announce (upon an upcoming release ), but now I'm a smidge paranoid. why Chris, why now the personal effects of a handwritten note!?

I like Coldplay trying new things but have never really been wild about their features. I prefer their features to be on an ep instead of a full release. I don’t get BTS and I’m happy for anyone who is happy. was just hopefully it would be like a one off like chain smokers thing.

Yeah there are a couple threads on Reddit (one of which is the Coldplay subreddit) and most don’t think it’s Coldplay but possibly video game related. I don’t have anything shipped to work with the exception of the HP cd. That’s what isn’t adding up. I want to believe though haha.

The style of art work doesn’t seem to match. I kept the post cards just in case it pans out to be Coldplay. Very random that it showed up at work.

It’s a slower chill version of HP. Quality is meh and doesn’t hit the chorus. Can hear guitar picking. I’m for it.

Song meaning / content doesn’t fit well with the rest of the set. That’s why. not saying I wouldn’t want to hear them live , just answering your question. also , according to Chris EL songs are a certain color and they fit within that context.

I don’t think there was a lack of confidence with EL, but more of the tone of the songs. Going to rock out to Guns or trouble in town in an arena ? id go watch the Zane Lowe interview with Chris. It addresses almost your entire post. Not saying you will like the response but it doesn’t provide a lot of perspective.

Anyone else have Flags mp3 that freaks out at about 2:55? Almost sounds like a skip from the old cd days.

1) I noticed how brilliant the cd casing and book appears to be and would love to own it. I currently have the silver and gold vinyl on pre order 2) since I would potentially triple dip, im curious to know if anyone has seen it stated that there is a clean version of the cd I could give my daughter. right now I am only seeing streaming services as the option for clean thanks in advance for anyone who may have info

I agree. The track is great with or without the sample. I fully understand why the sample is in there and it fits the urgency and tone of the song. I would love a version where it’s completely removed so when I’m passively listening and or with my very young kiddos , I can not worry about the skip of this great tune.
