  1. wow, can't believe I didn't think of that. Facepalm deserved haha
  2. Does anyone remember the article that said Coldplay was recording in zero gravity, with a vintage tape recorder, to find the "perfect drum sound?" What song did they use that recording on, if any? Was it the Goldrush?
  3. I'm thinking (more like hoping) that the coldplay album is coming out soooner than we think! The AMA's on Nov. 21 could be a way to get a new song/single out there. The Coldplay/Jay-Z New Year's Party Show would be this album's equivalent of Viva La Vida's secret show. I think it was Jonny who said about a month ago that "the album will probably come out next year." Could that have meant it could have been out late this year? I'm probably lookin to far into this, and just really excited again. I guess we'll find out November 21st!
  4. Currently in the process of learning unreleased songs "Coming Back To a Man" and "A Little Bit Of Everything" by Dawes. As well as John Prine's "Crazy As A Loon." I'd like to be able to cover them on saturday night at a friend's party, but we'll see. The last Coldplay songs I was learning was "Death Will Never Conquer."
  5. Eventually, the new cd will finally come out, and Coldplay will do some kind of tour. My question/discussion: what do you think will be on the setlist for that tour. I figure about 7-9 songs from the new album, and then 10-13 from other cds, which has been the case for this past year. I'll say 8 new songs and then... Clocks Viva La Vida Fix You The Scientist In My Place Violet Hill Yellow Politik Speed Of Sound The Hardest Part Lost Lovers In Japan 42 Obviously some songs will rotate in and out, but I think the core will revolve around those. What do you think? What songs make the cut?
  6. He should write them for me! Honestly, he should stick to writing for the band, but like someone said if Will uses that veto...someone's got to like those songs right?

  8. Same here! I saw Safety and Blue Room EP at a local Best Buy, but decided not to buy it (don't know why). They also had the vinyl VLV, but my record player is currently subpar, so that purchase willl have to wait.

  10. I'm probably overthinking here, but what if the Hypnofeed is a ginormous yet subtle clue to what songs will be appearing on LP5?! I know it's a bit of a stretch but hang with me: There are fourteen different stories (There were 13 tracks on X&Y counting Til Kingdom Come, and 13 track on VLVODAAHF including Reign of Love, Chinese Sleep Chant & The Escapist) Going by the list of songs in that one show (come on we've all seen it by now, just can't remember what it's called, the one where we first heard Chris playing Wedding Bells on guitar). Hypnofeed Story = song from list potentially on album This Is Exactly Like Watching Paint Dry = Famous Old Painters Trouble With Your Erection? Tent Pitching Tips = Sex Violence Now We Just Need A Giant Cup Of Tea = It Was A Wonderful Day (Tea could be the perfect ending to a Wonderful Day) A-Maizing: It's The Corn Cam = Gardeners On The Frontline (Corn is grown in Gardens?) In Praise Of Earth Worms = Wilderness The Weapon Is Mine = Harbingers Of Doom Don't Whine About The Cost Of The Most Expensive Bottle Of Wine = Drunks And Guns Purr-fect Paws Given To Cat = Struggling To Tell A Robin From A Wren? Not Anymore = Anti-Smoking Laws Come Too Late = Voyage Beyond The End Of The Universe = Wondering Star/Space Symphony The Net's Difinitive Place For Boring Jobs = Halo Halo Can You See Anything = Sssssstrange Two-Headed Snakes = Arabesque (slightly racist possibly, so I won't explain myself here haha) The Hypnofeed links without songs could just be songs that were'nt on those lists we saw, or I'm ust really bad at my own game. Okay, I'll admit it; I just want the album to hit shelves IMMEDIATELY and I'm super amped up and forcing things a bit here, but it was fun while it lasted (that's what she said)
  11. My brother used to have me sit down at the piano and play songs that he was listening to on the computer. One day he played Clocks and I figured it out in about five to ten minutes (although looking back I had it wrong! I played the second/third chord as Db Bb G instead of Db Bb F). After that I got hooked on that song and played at least once a day (still have never seen the actual sheet music). Then, senior yeea of high school (2007-08) I would listen to my iPod during Journalism class (wasn't breaking any rules, we were writing the school newspaper) and Politik came on and the last 90 seconds or so got me hooked on that. I only had about 6 Coldplay songs on my iPod (Clocks, the Scientist, Politik, Speed Of Sound, Yellow, Don't Panic). Then on my last day of high school the radio on bus was on some local station and the DJ said (New song from Coldplay here, a little heavier than their earlier stuff." It was Violet Hill, I was hooked, end of story. Got all the cds by Christmas last year.
