[Kinda] off topic, but has anyone tried to take the "cover" for this song (the image in the youtube video) and try to match it up with the ETIAW cover? I know some were speculating that the images associated with these songs could all end up being one large image.

Assuming Coldplay keeps up their 'tradition' of making the album name the same as a song on the album, what track number do you think the title LP5 will be? History gives us the following: Parachutes - 7 A Rush Of Blood To The Head - 10 X&Y - 6 Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Firends - 7 Or 10 Keep in mind I'm not counting hidden tracks (such as Life Is For Living, or Chinese Sleep Chant) in the track numbering. So DAAHF is track 10 of 10, not track 12 of 13.

Looks like "Moving To Mars" is what "Space Symphony" was in the 60 Minutes interview (the list of songs we saw on the wall).

I understand what saying here, but from the other perspective: wouldn't there a be more important things in life that getting a reaction from posters on a message board? Keep in mind that I'm not trying to single anyone out (even though I quoted your posy haha), I'm just trying to put an end to this banter & bickering, and get the focus of the forums back to the upcoming release of the long-anticipated LP5. And for the record, I do enjoy ETiaW. It was not what I expected, but it's fun for what it is: and uptempo summer single. Do I want it on LP5? No, because that means we get one more Coldplay song!

I agree that this is the reason, but I don't know if I would consider that trolling. What makes it worse than the unfunny humor, is that response by those defending the song. Arguing what the song means/sounds to yourself won't change anyone else's opinion. If people would just simply refrain from responding, logic would lead me to believe that the posters would stop (provided they don't have a very boring, repetitve job haha)

If it is one of them I think it's the bottom one second to the left. The last 10 seconds of the song (just drum solo) indicate that the songs dies down and that one shows that. Btw, that's from a roadie blog, right? Which one?

I was reading old R#42 blogs and came across this one: http://coldplay.com/newsdetail.php?id=621&page=0 The second picture has a 'secret stash of Chris's songs' and the one includes the phrase "......io riff" That could have been Road To Rio riff (or whatever the song's called). Roadie mentions that this group of songs is the "c-List" which may or may no have made the album, but seems unlikely that it would. Chris and the band could have pulled this song out to entertain the fans over the summer before the official announcement. Is it plausible? Probably not, but I thought it was interesting.

I think it sounds great, different, but great. What I'm wondering is what the setup will be when they perform it. Do you think it will be like Viva La Vida, with Chris roaming around the stage area? or will he be playing that harpsichord instrument and then acoustic guitar?

As much as I want their to be an announcement on the album's release date, the Oracle was just answering the second part of that question. but on the other hand..... MAYBE THERE'S AN ANNOUNCEMENT TOMORROW lol

Hopefully I'll be able to have the song on my iPod by the time I leave for work (about 3PM Eastern Time in the US), but the place I work plays a Billboard Top 40 station all day so maybe everyone can hear it haha

I doubt this is the case this year, but three years ago they played their secret gig, and the album came out a week later.

That's exactly how I feel. When I first read the lyrics for 'Christmas Lights' I was very unsure about 'drunken Elvis singing' but they managed to make the song amazing. It's not that I don't think the lyrics are good, it's just that it just doesn't seem like Coldplay lyrics right now. But I'm sure they've managed to make these lyrics into a song that I enjoy, and that they feel comfortable putting on a record, and, quite frankly, I couldn't ask for anything else. If you look at past Coldplay song titles, some of them just don't sound very appealing. I'm sure some will disagree with me, but I didn't think A Rush Of Blood To The Head, or Cemeteries Of London sounded like great song titles, but they turned out to be good songs nonetheless.

I know this was a few months ago, and that people change their minds, but I'm pretty sure Chris said in an article that ETIAW was the album's closer. Feel free to prove me wrong, though I'm almost certain it was in the article where he mentioned track titles, "Up With The Birds" and "Princess Of China." Also had a dream last night about the new song, and the music was that of the what-may-or-not-be "Famous Old Painters" instrumental haha

So are we getting a free song download on Friday? or an actual single with a b-side?

Apparently 'speedman' is in the tags of the youtube video, and Alein Radio was one of several potential song titles that appeared on a wall in a Coldplay interview (on CBS program 60 Minutes I believe).

For some reason I actually picture Chris singing these in rather low notes (for him at least) and I have a feeling that somehow this song could be Alien Radio

Is anyone else singing the lyrics in any given tune to themselves? Though I'm not really a fan of her music, the lyrics lend themselves nicely to the tune of the chorus of 'Bron This Way' by Lada Gaga

that's a 3 or 4 week period before October 10th, our favorite prediction as to when the album is coming out, perhaps it's the single date?

A thought on the photo shoot the other day: Perhaps they could be shooting pics for the liner note booklet? I don't know where exactly the Viva La Vida album photos were shot, but some of them did include intrsuments
