I LOVE this pic. I have it as my desktop background. It's quite a different syle to most of the Gorillaz artwork. I really love it. And Stylo kicks ass. You're always gonna have people disliking things, but the way I see it, they should try making better themselves and then criticise. Hey D. I'm D too :). Welcome. They really don't use many backing tracks though. I think 'Welcome to the world of the plastic beach' has snoop's bit prerecorded, and that's about it really. Oh and Neneh Cherry's bit was pre-recorded for Kids with Guns at Glastonbury. I think that's it. I don't think that's much. Plus, it's not like you're really being shortchanged - you've got two orchestras and a fantastic band playing live.

I agree. I'm pretty sick of the attitude over there. It's like a constant stream of whining. It gets very tedious very quickly. This is what bothers me most about it. Didn't Damon say that he read a comment about Stylo - that someone said it sounded like it had been put together in half an hour? He looked quite upset when he said it actually and people on the GU were saying that he read that on the site. It is disrespectful. Yeh, I know what you mean, there have been a lot of fuck-ups in the last few months but most of them have been unavoidable. Plus, there are people saying they're not getting their moneys worth for the Subdivision, and yet they are getting a litho worth £75 pounds for the £30 they paid, not to mention the fact that they are limited edition and so will be worth a lot more in the future. Surely that in itself is worth the money? I understand some of the anger of fans - like the ones who lost money on travel and accomodation for cancelled or rescheduled shows, but sometimes things like that happen. It's not like it was done deliberately to screw them over. Anyway, rant over :)

I know! I love the alternative Glitter Freeze. I much prefer it to the album version. Damon's vocals add a lot to it, I think. There's speculation that they might release either a b-sides album or a plastic beach part 2 early in the new year, but no-one knows anything when it comes to Gorillaz :D

I totally agree - Damon isn't concerned with whether or not people like his stuff and that's something I love about him. It makes him as good as he is, but unfortunately the nature of Gorillaz and the state of the economy means that they may not be making enough money. It's a catch-22. If he compromises the music just to get airplay, they'll lose fans, but if they don't get airplay, they won't have people buying tickets. It's just such a difficult time for them. People on the GU were complaining about them promoting Internet explorer 9, but money doesn't grow on trees, and sometimes you just have to do things you don't want to. People expect waaay too much. They are creating totally inspirational music and artwork and I'm so greatful to them for it. Sorry. That was a bit of a ramble :D

It's so damn depressing that this phase hasn't done as well as the others. It should. I mean it is a fantastic album, the visuals are stunning. What the hell is wrong with people?? The charts are absolute shit, it's the same rubbish recycled again and again, and nobody seems to notice. There is fantastic music all over the place and no-one seems to see it. I think he was pissed off with Mark though, he pretty much ruined the song, and then he starting messing around with the knobs on one of the amps. Makes for some damn good pics though :laugh3:

Hey guys! I haven't been on in a few days. I'm getting really nervous about cancellations now. I tried to see what tickets are available for my date on ticketmaster to try and get an idea of how the sales are going. I would be devestated if they cancel. It sounds REALLY sad, but it feels like the only thing I have to look forward to at the min! I don't know. It's really depressing to think that they might be struggling. They are just amazing, and to think of the absolute shit that is popular at the minute. I just cannot understand it. Anyway, rant over. The photos are great. Love the one on the parking meter :laugh3:

Jesus Shani, I'm so glad you're alright! I think people take cars for granted. We don't realise just how dangerous they can be until something like that happens. I'm learning to drive at the moment and I've had a couple of close shaves, but the interesting thing is that although I have made a few of the mistakes, there are so many bad drivers. Either that or the sheer volume of them means that the liklihood of accidents is so great. It is very dangerous anyway. I hope you're feeling better. These pics are sure to help...! Haha!! I read about this before! I just fucking love how principled he is! He stands up for what he believes and he obviously believed they wronged him. Good for him. It was a £20,000 prize too. well I'd asked about a b-sides album twice and I wrote one comment saying that the volume was pretty low, and of course he'd have to pick the inane comment to read out! His reply was that the mic was up as loud as possible and that there was nothing he could do! It was still cool though. I don't think he could have really answered about a b-sides album anyway tbh. Phill didn't seem to know much! Cass was beside him and every time there was a question about anything in Murdoc's backstory or about the website etc there was a long puase and you could tell Cass was trying to tell him what to say. That was very funny actually. But yeh, I doubt he really had any concrete information :D

Their kids really are so cute!! ShaniBee, I've never used the multiquote function thing either, but I've just had a look at it and I think I've figured it out! You see on the bottom right-hand side of each post where the "quote" button is? Beside it there's a "multi-quote" button. You need to click on this button for every post you wanna quote. When you click on it the little green bit on it turns red, which means it's been added to you're post. So click on it for the posts you want to quote and then click on "new reply" and they will be added to it for you. Hope my explaination is clear! If you don't understand what I mean just ask and I'll try and explain it better!!

Ok, so they were on Icelandic radio after all. The playback is here http://dagskra.ruv.is/ras2/4558230/2010/09/12/ There's no time thing on it so it's hard to tell you when it starts but it's about 1/4 of the way into the show. I'm just gonna listen to it now. Ok: they play about 3 songs at that point and then stop and they return to it in roughly the 4th quarter of the show. There's only about 6 songs altogether.
