Yeah it's almost like a soundtrack or film score, like a leitmotif. It's great.

I actually hope it's true. It could just make the right difference... The small mistakes in UATW were charming though. Chris's voice sounds very real, almost like it's live. Especially on that low 'world', I think that's kinda cute.

Oh okay. I haven't read the whole thread, I just saw 'it's a trick from EMI'. So if it's a promo copy, wouldn't radio stations have a promo copy as well? People are claiming our leak is different from radio versions.

So... Is it different or is it not different? I honestly don't see why EMI would 'leak' a sligthly worse version of the album.

Those are the 'true' fans :P I agree. Even if this would be the perfect album, if that exists, you can't rate it a 10 on the first day. But that's just my opinion. I still haven't heard it a second time, and it's weird how fast it fades. I can only remember things I didn't like.

Far too early to judge if you ask me. I'll tell you in two months. Or a year.

I've listened once and am trying not to listen until I get my copy on Friday, but that probably doesn't count. ;)

I think someone from The Netherlands (we're really good people :P) first posted a few links leading to the real thing, which a few people tried and started spreading. At the same time someone posted a fake, so at first there was a lot of confusion. From then on it was PM PM PM PM PM PM PM PM. ;) Edit: Oh I was wrong, The Dutch guy (still good people :P) posted the fake. But I think more people found it at the same time.

:lol: So annoying when people say that. Come on, we're all 'true' fans, whatever that may mean. I'm sorry Debs is disappointed, but we're simply not strong enough to resist a leak. Maybe it would have been slightly different if there was one 'true' (:rolleyes:) release date to get excited for, but there's three, so... On topic: the album needs some getting used to, but it's definitely... different. In a good way. The second half is stunning (apart from POC, which will hopefully grow on me). I love the flow, the short tracks add to that. It's much better than I expected, gave it an 8. Edit: the ending of Charlie is beautiful. They take their time there, which is great.

Only listened once, but so far HLH, U.F.O. and Up With The Birds.

Disappointment: Rihanna and maybe too much production, but I might be able to get used to that. Surprise: Up with the birds, and I love the effects on HLH somehow.

I like to think Chris decided that he doesn't want Coldplay to be seen as 'the Chris Martin show' anymore. A lot of people think the band revolves around him, which is sometimes true. That has partly to do with his personality, it's his nature to take the spotlight even though he doesn't always want to. So maybe he thought, 'I'm not gonna write as much lyrics and use my voice more like an actual instrument'. Because that's what's going on, there's less (different) lyrcis, more repetition and more ooh's. He took a step back, he wants the band to stand out more, I think. That, or he is less inspired. He has not gotten lazy, he loves his job far too much. I know he has put everything into it.
