I like it, but yeah I agree it's a little simplistic. It's pretty much exactly what a cross between Everglow and Wish I Was Here would sound like lol. Especially the opening piano riff. The first time I'd heard it I thought I'd stumbled upon an alternate version of Everglow by mistake :P I can't imagine them adding it to the EP though. If we're getting any new material added to the tracklist it will probably be an as-yet-unheard track. Maybe a cover?

^ They probably would have announced any collaborations by now (although I guess one was hinted at on Miracles 2). I don't see them putting any live versions on it at this point either, though if we got one I'd like it to be Up&Up. That song needs to be live to sound proper!

^ True, but to be fair it's usually Chris that says that :P Phil hasn't weighed in on anything in quite awhile, and while of course it's always praising, I don't think I've ever heard him say "this next release is the favorite thing we've ever done." idk, maybe I'm lending his Tweet too much credit, but the fact that Phil feels that way makes me hopeful that this will be a better release than their last couple of albums

Okay now I'm even more excited I know he also was a strong advocate for Twisted Logic to be kept on X&Y, so apparently he's a big fan of that era's sound? Seems like a good sign!

It's very weird that they haven't even made an official announcement about the release date being changed. I plan on checking for the EP June 2 if we don't hear anything, but I'm with ColdMartin--it's probably been pushed back to the 30th *shrug*

That's a good point about the album artwork and pre-order. Even for an EP, we should know both of those way before the actual release date. Crackpot Theory: Chris wrote a bunch more songs, so now they're rush-recording to turn the EP into a fully-fledged album :joy:

^ That was the list of possible tracks that could appear on MX. I believe a lot of them came from the 60 Minutes interview the guys did right after the Viva era, and some of them came from words that were painted on Chris's piano, Jonny's guitar, etc. Some of them were obviously never released but we did wind up getting DLIBYH, Aiko, UWtB, Spanish Rain/Don Quixote, Spray Can Soul (became HLH), Goodbye and Goodnight (pre-Viva demo leak) and Until the Water Flows Over (live and instrumental versions only). Under One Roof wound up being the name of some charity thing the guys supported. I imagine most of these went the same way all the old ARoBttH and X&Y unused tracks (Deserter, Zero Theory, etc.) went. Unless we get some sort of Unreleased Compilation someday, most of these will probably never see the light of day :(

Chris has been saying "this is the last album" since X&Y lol. Eventually there has to be a last one of course, but I'll believe it when the guys are all old and gray and it's been 10 years since their last release :P And even if AHFoD winds up being the last official album, I could see them continuing to release little EPs and singles every few years or so. Now a hiatus I could see. They've been in a nonstop loop of record-tour-record-tour for twenty years, so it's definitely deserved!
