^ Even though I'm not a big fan of the last albums, there has always been at least one or two songs that I really like. That's all I'm hoping for from Kaleidoscope!

It will be after this upcoming album (LP8), correct? I seem to remember the forum having the same conversation about their contract expiring back around the time MX / Ghost Stories came out, but I could be wrong.

I mean, Chris has consistently said about every album since X&Y came out :P But I agree about the rest! Coldplay never settles into one album style for long. With the poppiness of the last three albums, we're due for a change

I've been trying not to listen to this too much so I don't spoil myself if it winds up being on the EP, but God every time I do I just love it that much more. Reminds me of a mashup from the Viva era and the pre-Parachutes stuff

Remember that Eno also produced MX though. Who we really need back is Jon Hopkins along with Eno! Those two complemented each other so well, I wish we could have gotten more than one album from them . . .

Fair point. Plus note that in the video Chris says they've been writing songs specifically, not reworking them or polishing them or anything like that. It could be that they've moved on to another source of inspiration. Really, I think it's going to be difficult to tell ahead of time what we're getting with this EP--all the other EPs we've gotten have been released within a few months of their respective albums. While I think the potential LP8 is too far off for this EP to be indicative of its sound, I also think the guys' perspective will have shifted a little since AHFoD. This may wind up being a little mini-era in itself in terms of sound, themes, etc. And okay, makes sense lol. I it was my browser messing up and tried everything I could think of to get them back, but nothing was working :lol:

^ I definitely agree about Miracles hinting at AHFoD's general sound, but I'm curious why you included Ghost Story also? To me, it sounds like it belongs more in the ARoBttH thru Viva eras than anything :) EDIT: Off-topic, but are the forum's emoticons not showing properly for anyone else?

Dang. Hopefully we don't have to wait until April for it as some rumors have said! Although at least now we get some proper speculation time :lol: Cover thoughts? Tracklisting? Length?

Aaahh I really like this. As you said, it reminds me a bit of Cemeteries, but crossed with Strawberry Swing. Hope this makes it onto the EP!

^ Prospekt's March is probably my favorite "release" of anything they have put out. The title track is actually perfection. If we even get something remotely similar, I'll be satisfied!

Well if it makes you feel any better, I doubt they would announce an ASFoS-like EP during an interview. I'm hoping for a Prospekt's March EP myself as the best-case scenario. If Kaleidoscope is getting extended, we may even get a song like LiTii :wacky: One-year anniversary release hype?
