1. 23/25 also the hair and the single... But I'm pretty sure the hair is from the MX era, since he mostly trimmed his hair (like AROBTTH era) during GS ;) Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONE E1003 met Tapatalk
2. So I really need to ask this, what do you guys think of this? First of all it scares me to hear this 'live' version with only the two of them actually 'performing' and not hearing any difference to any live perfomance with the four of them. Since at least 50% of their 'live' concerts consits out of pre-recorded backing tracks these days. Secondly, to me it feels like some sort of lack in creativity, why not do a beautiful acoustic version like they used to do pre-MX? For instance, Jonny is just standing there with nothing to do for half of the song (at least he pretends to play the keys on a regular live performance with the four of them). Yes they have a semi-acoustic version for HFTW and even Clocks that night, but sometimes I feel like they've become too comfortable with all these backing tracks and they're getting lazy when it comes to creativeness and musicianship. Since it is obvious they intended the audience to have fun, jump around and stuff, but they forget one important aspect which makes them musicians that is actually playing the music. It really bothers me sometimes...
3. I'm only a bit afraid how this will impact the start of the second EU leg, since it wouldn't make sense to play nearly the exact set as last year. I really NEED to hear AICTAIY and Hypnotised and one of the other new songs live. Since a 2 June release would make sense: release new songs and start touring 4 days later whilst playing them live for the first time to the audience. Now I'm a bit afraid the setlist won't be changed.
4. Just wondering if they are going to play some songs live At Later with Jools Holland... They've played there every album except AHFOD... So fingers crossed for KEP. I really like these performances! Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONE E1003 met Tapatalk
5. So, I wanted to keep myself from listening the song until the actual release. I failed. Now there will only be 2 new songs on the EP when it comes out... ...BUT... Damn what an amazing song! The sound quality is shitty so I'm very anxious to hear the studio version. This is the side of Coldplay many people wanted to hear! And with Hypnotised and 2 other possible great alternative sounding tracks Coldplay is back again! Some thoughts on the song: The intro reminds me of a GS song, maybe some sort of combination of All Your Friends and Another's Arms, very laid back, tranquilent and mysterious. However the bassline is so remniscent of the Parachutes/AROBTTH era. The piano is absolutely gorgeous in combination with Jonny's swift guitar. The build up is massive, reminds me a bit of DAAHF. And the rest is history. Jonny once again shines in the last part of the song, it does feel a bit Atlas-esque, but then maybe the grown op version, containing elements of Coldplay throughout the years. The only minor letdowns are the drums unfortunately. As a drummer, I always try to see different background patterns/layers and hoping for some Will magic, and if this drum pattern was a first for Will I wouldn't mind. However since his drum beat of Paradise, he has made a habit out of the same R&B/generic sort of drum pattern (Magic/Up&Up/Miracles etc.). Moreover his playing is almost identical to Atlas (not considering the fills -- oh yes FINALLY some fills). I feel that Will doesn't do this song justice and could have come up with a far more interesting pattern/beat. Unfortunately it seems Will has somewhat lost his inspiration in coming up with interesting/complex drum patterns. It's a pity, definitely when we compare it to the drum beats of songs like Square One, Fix You, Low, DAAHF, Strawberry Swing, Glass Of Water, Major Minus and, in my opinion his best work on 42.
6. Same! And precisely at the last date of the Asian-leg they play the full song! Damnit. Still trying to hold on til June 2nd.
7. Damn I want to listen to these soundchecks so badly! But I'm restricting myself and waiting til June 2nd, otherwise the EP won't be that much of a surprise anymore *fingers crossed*
8. I don't know if this is legit, however it wouldn't surprise me. Only one change in the setlist... and no Hypnotised... Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/wolvestory/status/847777182277443584
9. I'm really excited to see if they play any of the new songs (SJLT or Hypnotised) in Singapore the 31st!

11. Last night I dreamt that a song on Kaleidoscope featured a duet on guitar between Matt Bellamy and Jonny haha. How I wish this would ever come true, and our Jonnyboy could finally get the recognition for the great guitarist he really is. :relieved:
12. Wow, normally I can agree with people on some points, however I fully disagree with you. There is a beautiful solo by Jonny from the 04:00 mark (it's very much like the solo Jonny used to do live in AROBTTH). And as for the sparks, this song is consisting of sparks and emotions IMO. And the highs and lows (''Now it's sunrise)? Maybe you should give the song a few more listens! This song has restored all my faith in Coldplay again.
13. This song is so so good. The lyrics, the production, the instrumentation the ''Jay!'' part and the way Chris sings throughout the song, so much emotion so beautiful and it truely reminds me of their earlier years (reminds me a bit of Gravity somehow), the song has restored all my faith in Coldplay.
14. Hypnotised is beautiful... All I can say... Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONE E1003 met Tapatalk
15. I think you just made clear why I, and I think many of us Coldplayers love Coldplay so much. There is no band on earth who could do things Coldplay does. And I think this is one of core aspects which has made them one of the greatest bands of the 21st century. So who knows what they'll bring on the Kaleidoscope EP? (Btw, you forgot to mention Ghost Story for the Oldplayers ;) )
16. Well said! And I agree with you 100% Verstuurd vanaf mijn ONE E1003 met Tapatalk
17. I would really love to hear the song in ''Coldplay-style'' since it could potentially be a very good song. (Don't kill me for this) but the last part (when Jonny starts playing) is a bit Politik-esque, if you think of it without the Chainsmokers part haha. And btw, I don't know if I want to know but I'll still ask, why is there so much hate towards The Chainsmokers? I'm not really up to date with everything they do/did//stand for? I only know them because of their hits, which I like to a certain extent.
18. I like it. Not loving it yet. Not really a fan of the Chainsmokers since all their songs sound the same. This song is no different, you can feel that it's more The Chainsmokers ft. Chris Martin than anything else. Though there are a few things I really like: 1. The build-ups 2. The lyrics 3.Jonny's guitar in the end makes things much much better. 19. I think this will have nothing do with Kaleidoscope EP, since its ''The Chainsmokers ft. Coldplay'' and not ''Coldplay ft The Chainsmokers''. It will be nice hearing new material from them again, but since The Chainsmokers aren't really the kind of music I adore, I won't have my hopes up to high, and still hoping for the ''more guitar driven'' Kaleidoscope EP. One thing I find strange though, is that we get reports from Chris in the studio with the Chainsmokers but non of the other members were spotted there. So I'm thinking it just some sort of publicity way of promoting the song ft. Coldplay instead of ft. Chris Martin. Since the name Chris Martin sounds much less familiar to many people than Coldplay, who everyone knows, and will probably boost sales/attention/hype. And yeah, I've always had my hopes on Will, but since so many things have happened ofter the past few years since MX, I've also lost my trust in him keeping the high standards Coldplay used to have.
20. So it could be more likely they'll drop a new song tonight!? Maybe they'll premiere the new Chainsmokers Song tonight and then release it all over the world!
21. That would be the bomb. Imagine them playing a new song, out of nowhere. I would be just blown away. But still... I highly doubt it... But then.... what song would they play instead? AOAL doesn't need any more airtime, they already played HFTW last year, and I don't see why they would want to promote Everglow or Up&Up more. So they'll either play a new single like Fun (with Tove Lo maybe) or Army of One... or some sort of collaboration with an other artist or tribute to George Michael/David Bowie/Prince....
22. Ware Liefde (wohoo Dutch again... ) Shiver
23. Violet Hill's bassline is pretty awesome too. Well, actually he shines on many VLVODAAHF era songs. Lovers, 42, Cemeteries Of London, Yes, LiTii...
24. I couldn't resist hehe:laughing: Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/JJansen42/status/824660867526590466
25. I just made a playlist of all 'dark' Coldplay songs on Spotify. It feels like the Dark Coldplay album :) If anyone is interested: Mobile Link: https://open.spotify.com/user/11120006004/playlist/7LdZik7LjtfDI0QCtUeyp9
