I think that title might be the one Guy mentioned was originally going to be for LP8 before "Everyday Life" came around. Not sure though.

It's this:
3. By the way, the video production on this broadcast has been brilliant. Those paning shots over the stage and the city are gorgeous. It almost looks like they recorded the whole thing ahead of time.
4. Agree. Also I prefer this version without those rain noises.
5. Wow. That's amazing. Arabesque is a gem.
6. Interesting song. Reminds me of "Miracles" and "Ghost Story". Definitely feels like a B-side but also could be one of the more conventional Coldplay songs of this era so far.
7. So the only lyrics in the album I haven't been able to decipher are in arabic towards the end of this song: Handwriting is definitely a problem and this is what I get on the translator software: I'm really not sure this is correct so maybe someone here knows or has a better way to translate these lyrics.
8. Towards the end of "Bani Adam" and at the begining of this song we hear a sample of a song called "Otuto Nke Chukwu" (Translates to "Glory to God") by an old nigerian artist called "Harcourt Whyte and Choir" that says: Translates from the igbo (Nigerian language): So I guess there's a lot of nigerian music elements in this new record.
9. When I first heard this song it was confusing and suprising to me as how much I felt drawn to the music (Especially because the lyrics are not their best) but I figured it's mostly because of how "naked" and vulnerable it sounds. In my opinion this might be their best ballad of this kind ("Fly On", "Trouble", "Lost?", "Gravity", etc).
10. This video looks gorgeous. "Daddy" is definitely one of my favorites tracks off the album.
11. I'm not sure if it has been mentioned here before but in the outro of "Trouble In Town" we can hear an audio sample of some kids singing in zulu (Southern Africa dialect): Translates to:
12. So it appears that the song "BrokEn" was dedicated to Brian Eno (Hence his initials as capital letters in the title). I guess it's kind of a tribute although I will admit I don't know enough about Brian Eno to guess what it all means.
13. I found some lyrics online for "Champion of The World" and I haven't been this in love with Coldplay since "Death And All His Friends". What a masterpiece!
Intro [in Eastern Asian language] Verse 1 I tried my best to be just like The other boys in school I tried my best to get it right And died at every June This mountainside is suicide This dream will never work Still the sign upon my headstone, write: "A champion of the world" Oh-oh-oh Oh-oh-oh Oh Oh-oh Verse 2 I tried my best to stay alight Fly like a firework I tried my best at taking flak But my rocket-ship reversed No, referee, don't stop the fight Everyone can see I'm hurt But I'll stand before conquistadors 'Till I'm champion of the world Chorus (When I sail) And when I sail I'm sailing west (Though I might fail) Knowing I might fail But, still I am hoping for the best (In my dreams) And in my dreams Onto my chest She'll bring the colours and say: "I wandered the whole wide world but Baby, you're the best" Lo Lo-lo Lo-lo Oh E-Oh E-Oh E-Oh E-Oh Lo Lo-lo Lo-lo Post-chorus So I'm flying on my bicycle Heading outwards from the Earth I am jumping with no parachute Out into the universe I am E.T. on my bicycle With this kid, and I want more I am riding on my rocket-ship And I'm champion of the world. Outro [Guitar solo]
14. I've been thinking a lot about this. I think I understand why the band chose this song to be the closer and it's because they needed a song that could represent the sentiment one feels staring at sunset, a feeling of nostalgia but at the same time fulfillment. Also they needed the track to end abruptly just like the sun dissapears under the horizon during sunset. Something similar to this can explain the outro to "Sunrise" as representing the birth of the sun at dawn. Just my opinion.
15. I hear bits of the "Viva La Vida" era all over this new record. "Old Friends" reminds me of one the demo songs that got leaked back then ("Goodbye And Goodnight") and the second half of "Bani Adam" has a guitar arrangement reminiscent of "A Spell A Rebel Yell".
16. 42 seconds. :joy:
17. My thoughts exactly. There are so many things I like about that song. I guess it's because of all of the good songs it reminds me of ("Rainy Day", "Crests Of Waves", "Tomorrow Never Knows" by The Beatles).
18. I'm sitting here and I still can't believe how good this record turned out to be. Especially after the release of "Orphans" (by far my least favorite track of the album) when I had such low expectations. I guess my only criticism of the music (still have to wait to check the full lyrics) is the lack of cohesiveness within the tracklist. As others have mentioned there's no common theme and most of these songs stand by themselves like islands. Still believe this could be their best work since "Viva La Vida". I'm glad I got to discuss it with you guys here.
19. There are some pretty mediocre lyrics on some of these new songs but somehow I feel like they fit so perfectly in the context of the music. In "Daddy" for example: Look down we got the same hair And Daddy it's my birthday But all I want to say I'm stunned on how they pulled this.
20. A referee Won't stop the fight Everyone can see I am hurt
21. Also, the combination of the drums and the melody (especially on the chorus) it's reminiscent of "Tomorrow Never Knows" by The Beatles.
22. I actually like it. It has multiple melodic switches that I personally find charming. To me it sounds like something out of "Prospekt's March EP". It's really hard for me to find a weak point in this record even if I try. Remarkable.
23. I'm in love with the bassline in "Trouble In Town". This song has some GPASUYF vibe to it. This album might be the most diverse record I've listened to.
24. Yes! Some people may complain about the lyrics being too plain but I genuinely think it's brilliant. May be my favorite so far.
