Will need more time to process this album but for me right now "Daddy" is a triumph. Heavy "Famous Old Painters" vibe on this one.

So, according to Chris' interview on Radio.com this song was suposed to be part of the band's next project (LP9) but they decided to include it in "Everyday Life". It's interesting because it seemed to me that this song was part of the core theme for the rest of the album but aparently it was a late addition.

I could be mistaken but I don't think the band announced "Everyday Life" as the second single off the album. In their website it only says that they, and I quote: "have made the track available to stream or download following their performance on Saturday Night Live".

This looks interesting. I don't consider an interlude any song over one minute in length. I do think we may get some "demo" style tracks in this record. More acoustic songs maybe. Also, one of my favourite Coldplay songs is "Parachutes" and it is only 44 seconds long.

I got a notification too. It seems to me they reuploaded the "Guns" preview video so the older link got erased.

I think we may have to wait until we hear the entire record to make this kind of assessment. I personally do like 2 (or even 3) of those songs better when they stand on their own but I still want to wait to hear the whole album.

I have the feeling this song is one of those that will sound 100 times better live (Up&Up, Up In Flames, Life Is For Living).

Does someone recognize the song playing at the beginning on "Arabesque"? Eerie familiar to me.

The final line in "Arabesque": "Same fucking blood".

YES! I thought this as well. I also figured because of some of those song titles sound like B-sides to me. It's going to be fun figuring out which songs correspond with which eras.
