5/10 The worst song from this era thus far for me. One of Coldplay's most boring songs. I hope something more from the album version.

It's hardly being selfish, it's more a moronic move on the band's part (if they care about catering to fans, making money or playing shows that is)

I would be, but can't for numerous reasons. I won't blame the band fully for me and probably many others not being able to see them, but it's at least partially their fault for only playing three shows and limiting the number of people who can go.

Only three UK dates? This is a joke if it's the final announcement for the tour. Surely these are just some kind of smaller shows before a stadium tour? Or maybe they'll just announce more arena dates? I can't believe they've decided to just play three venues in the UK, the country they were founded in, the country they first had success in and the country they're most popular in. I mean, with any other country this would be ridiculous too, but I'm having a hard time coming to terms with the prospect of only three UK tour dates. There has to be something more to this. What do people think?

I also find it very possible to have 6+ singles. We've had two singles and the album is still over a month away. They could release singles for as long as the tour goes on for, as they have in the past.

I thought you'd heard Paradise that's all :rolleyes:

All the Coldplay albums so far have had singles close together on the tracklisting, so I don't think it's much of a stretch

There are no MX haters, it's not even out yet

The way I look at it there are many other bands who are currently in their prime such as Muse (who I've seen twice) and Coldplay (who I will be seeing hopefully on the MX Tour whenever that happens. The Chilis are my favourite band and the band that got me into music in general, but there's no question they're past their prime, despite the fact they can still make good music and put on a good show. I can comfort myself knowing that I can see a more current band if I never get the chance to see RHCP. And besides, Frusciante was one of the main reasons I wanted to see them, ever since getting the Hyde Park album, which blew me away when I first heard it at the age of 12 and it remains one of my favourite live albums. If I never get to see them I'll be disappointed, but I can at least be happy seeing my other favourite bands.

coincidence imo, but you never know with Coldplay nowadays

Okay so going by the live performances and pure guesswork, how many singles do you think will be lifted from MX? And which songs? Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall Paradise Charlie Brown Up in Flames Hurts Like Heaven Charlie Brown sounds like it could be a huge hit like Clocks and Viva la Vida, ETIAW and Paradise are obviously already singles, HLH just sounds immediate and catchy to me, which is a clear sign for a single in my opinion and I'm not sure about UIF, but I've heard on here a few times that the band have been talking up this one particular track, not sure if it's true or not but I've just got a good feeling about it.

I highly doubt it, seeing as that was a double album. 14 songs across two discs? Either Coldplay have been listening to a lot of progressive rock or it'd be two very short albums indeed.

I personally don't count the live songs in the same I count ETIAW, MM and on Monday, Paradise. Live tracks sound different to their studio counterparts. Take MM for instance.

Coldplay just posted on their facebook the album tracklisting with the caption "Side A and Side B on the studio wall" This fits in with the two sided tracklisting theory people came up with yesterday. Maybe MX is a concept album and the story is in two parts?

We can agree that Coldplay are a good band and that is why this started. I love them and I'm worried they'll deliver an album like X&Y which myself and many others don't think is up to their standard, that's all. Why do you have a problem with that? We aren't saying it's bad, we're just saying it's their weakest album at the minute.

Totally different to how I expected it to sound... Sounds much better than ETIAW. I'll wait til Monday but so far this album is shaping up very well. Major Minus is fantastic and I for one like ETIAW, now this is sounding really good too.
