  1. Coldplay are thieving bastards
  2. 1.) Red Hot Chili Peppers 2.) Muse 3.) Radiohead 4.) The Beatles 5.) R.E.M. And here my other five, in case people were noticing a distinct lack of Coldplay... 6.) U2 7.) Nirvana 8.) Pink Floyd 9.) Metallica 10.) Coldplay
  3. Yeah VLV wears off a lot more than their other albums do. It gets boring eventually, whereas Parachutes and AROBTTH are still evidently great albums.
  4. Paradise during the first half and ETIAW during the second from what I remember. But there seems to be some footage of the band performing that I don't recognise from the ETIAW video. Perhaps it'll be in the Paradise video? In fact the whole advert seems like it could be a snippet of a music video.
  5. Parachutes - 8.6 A Rush of Blood to the Head - 8.9 X&Y - 6.3 Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends - 8.4 Mylo Xyloto - 8.0
  6. I'm starting to become annoyed with her presence on albums I've been anticipating. She was on the last Eminem album (which ended up being as bad as his last few), the last Kanye West album (although even she couldn't stop it from being amazing) and now she's gonna be on Mylo Xyloto. She's quickly becoming the most annoying person in music to me. Surely, someone else is disappointed she'll appear? Hopefully she won't be used very prominently, similar to the aforementioned Kanye West album where she played on All of the Lights. She was tolerable there, it wasn't overused. I'm dreading that this will be an overused guest spot and it'll try to throw it in your face.
  7. Yeah, X&Y is their weakest by some distance for me tbh
  8. No luck, sorry guys. I'll try to get pics at least if it comes on tonight though for you all.
  9. I'm expecting a 7 out of 10. A good, very solid album. Not as good as VLV, AROBTTH or Parachutes from what we've been hearing, to me at least. But better than X&Y. Maybe an 8 in fact, depending on how the studio versions of those live tracks shape up and the quality of the songs we haven't heard yet. I wouldn't be surprised if this even gets a 9 from me. Then again, it could just as easily join X&Y and be a 6. It's very difficult for me to decide on what I think this album is gonna be like in terms of quality.
  10. Glad to see it's a short album. Albums like The Beatles' Revolver were 14 tracks long and just over 30 minutes and that was possibly the best album ever. As I said on another thread I posted, X&Y was long and it came across as bloated in the eyes of many (including me). Shorter is the way to go when it comes to pop-based music, which is what Coldplay are, especially with this album.
  11. Saw an advert on E4 last night. Was pretty cool. Anyone else see it? And am I the only one surprised at seeing an ad already? Album adverts usually don't come on until the day of release or a couple of days prior. They must really be pushing for massive sales this time around. EDIT: It's here [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vC98GUAapEk]Mylo Xyloto TV advert - YouTube[/ame]
  12. NME's ratings for Coldplay's albums so far Parachutes - 9/10 A Rush of Blood to the Head - 9/10 X&Y - 9/10 Viva la Vida - 8/10 The ******s will be licking Coldplay's arseholes once again once MX is actually out, despite how much they mock them in articles such as these.
  13. R.E.M. were still trying new things. Just listen to all 15 of their albums and come back. Oh, and 15 albums proves they were constantly active. They never lived it down and always delivered. No other band can lay claim to that.
  14. I agree and I've said that several times. Viva la Vida made Coldplay the biggest band in the world at the minute. U2 are one of the most successful bands of all time, but right now Coldplay are the more popular act. Although U2 will always be huge and are more well-known, I'd say Coldplay are the more successful band right now.
  15. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yvkVrMYM5z8]R.E.M. - Find the River - YouTube[/ame] This song is even more poignant now
  16. I'm not sure what you're implying, but I want to make it clear that whilst I'm not a huge fan of ETIAW or Paradise, I think both are enjoyable enough. I also really like Major Minus. On top of that, I love what we've heard of Hurts Like Heaven and Charlie Brown so far. I'm optimistic for Mylo Xyloto as a whole, but what we've got from this song doesn't do it for me.
  17. R.E.M.: 1980-2011 http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/r-e-m-break-up-after-three-decades-20110921 They have broken up. One of my all-time favourite bands. They will be missed.
