  1. Well, here's the peoples votes for anyone who hasn't seen them http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89000 Here's mine 1st Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay 2nd Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds 3rd Suck It And See - The Arctic Monkeys 4th Wasting Light - Foo Fighters 5th Different Gear, Still Speeding - Beady Eye 6th Helplessness Blues - Fleet Foxes 7th Torches - Foster The People 8th Shiver of Joy EP - Black Box Revelation (EPs count right? Even though it's only an Ep, it's fantastic! I can't wait for there full U.S LP!) 9th The King of Limbs - Radiohead 10th I'm With You - The Red Hot Chili Peppers El Camino is not eligable by Coldplaying.com rules, so I can't put that on there, but it definitly is worthy. Slave Ambiant should probally go somewhere on my list too, but I'm still working out the kinks (waiting till the very last minute to say it's finalized, cause I want to newer albums to have a chance cause I've listened to them less. I'd also lke to here what the rest of the people on this thread chose as there top albums, I think that could be interesting.....
  2. Yeah. I expect alot of stuff I like to be left off, that's how life is y'know. Just dissapointed none of the lists have had very many rock albums. But whatchya gonna do?
  3. I got tickets!! It will be my first time seeing Coldplay! I am very excited!:D :chris::will::guy::jonny: :santa2:Christmas came early!
  4. I would like a live movie, since this concert would probally be in london and I wouldn't be able to go. I've seen a special where they've played the entire Viva and one where they played the entire X&Y, so I think it would be awesome if they did that! Also, while I'm makingt wishes, I want scrapped scenes from the MX movie to be playing in the background while they play the songs. That would be awesome!:D
  5. ^ I actually really didn't like there's either, but I thought the order of the albums they did have was pretty good, and I was glad to see the inclusion of Slave Ambiant. Still, none of these lists get even close to doing it for me.:\
  6. I don't like this list either. God, this, Rollingstone, Pitchfork; all terrible lists in my opinion. Sure Wasting Light, Helplessness Blues, and El Camino are on this, I can get behind this, but I don't like literally anything else on this list. I know I have my own taste in music, all my favorites are not going to get on every list, but pretty much all my favorites have been left of every list, and are usually ranked pretty low if they do make it on. Never liked any critics choosing my music for me though. Guess the only list I can really get behind is my own! I have a distinct taste!
  7. I've never even heard of most of those artists. Lots of numbers and consonents and weird titles up there. Looks like a computer glitch.:laugh3: People are very creative when it comes to album titles! But yeah, since I've only heard 1 of those albums and like ~5 of the artists, I can't say I like it.
  8. I know your joking, but that would literally be the most awesome thing ever! avtomobil uşaqlar!
  9. I think a big problem with this list is, while alot of "more unheard of" bands made this list, which is good, they ended out leaving alot of more popular musicians. Some of these artists I've never even heard of, they may be very good, but theres so much good stuff missing because of that. IMO
  10. http://www.coldplay.com/oracle.php#!prettyPhoto/1/ Oracle said he/she never heard that song from Ellen. HAs he heard Car Kids? The mystery deepens.....
  11. Cd?

Cheese Nip 2 replied to Blakexy1125's topic in Charlie Brown
I feel the same as DundahMifflin, I like to have something I can hold in my hand. It's a work of art and it's mine! I think record sleeves are a dying art, and I love that Coldplay keeps it creative (2 covers for MX, the vinyl style for Viva). I think it's been like that sinse CDs took the place of records, cause you have less space for art and such. However, it forces the bands to be creative, which is arguably just as good!:)
  12. Here's what I've gotten from the story so far (I've only heard it a couple times though so this is subject to change). For all intensive purposes Mylo Xyloto will be the male protagonist's name. Mylo Xyloto MX/Hurts Like Heaven: Mylo Xyloto is a youth living in a society where the government has an overpowering presence over the people. Art is forbidden (except for propaganda) and Mylo has always felt like there was something more to life and has always felt drawn to music and painting. He deals with teen angst and a series of complex emotions. He doesn't have many friends and can't share his feeling with anyone. He has seen graffiti throughout the area (bridge in the park, factory sign) and it gets him thinking. One day he decides that he has had enough of being afraid of "the man" and decides to arm himself with a "spray can soul" and spray paint anti government arm all over town. Paradise: We are introduced to another character. She shares many of the same feelings as Mylo but while Mylo is a big activist for standing up to the Gestapo like soldiers and oppressive government, she is more interested in having a friend; someone she can rely on and share her feeling with. She feels alone, and while she is against the oppressive government, her number one goal is to be happy and find…well…paradise. Charlie Brown: We now get more background on Mylo. He is rebelling but still doesn’t seem happy. He has joined many other "rough" boys (the lost boys), but doesn't quite click with them. They have offered him drugs and a life of crime which sees to make them happy. Mylo is against these things though, and when they don't make him happy, he starts to rethink his priorities. This "rebellion" is not how he thought it would be. Many of the kids he is hanging out with just want to smoke and steal, but Mylo wants more. He starts thinking about the boys, the girls, all the madness in the world etc. He wants to glow, he wants to be special. He decides to lead his own innocent riot against the government. He then sets up a pirate radio station called Major Minus Media. His riot begins to gain traction. Us Against The World: Paradise girl decides to go to a secret meeting of Mylo's gang, the Car Kids (yes, I went there). They meet up and the two fall deeply in love. They have found the answers to all their problems in each other. They still feel like outcasts but now they know that there's another person like them, and Mylo tells her "It's just Us Against The World." M.M.I.X/ Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall: Mylo and Paradise girl's gang has really caught on now. They hold secret concerts over Major Minus Media and the finally feel happy for the first time they can remember. And all the kids they dance, all the kids all night, until Monday morning feels another life. So yeah. The do that. Major Minus: The villain. Major Minus is not necessarily a specific person but rather a presence similar to the eye of Sauron. He may or may not be a real person, as no one has ever met him. He works through the Gestapo like soldiers and you never know when he is watching you. Everyone's paranoid and after a couple of the kids have gone missing, many think Major Minus is on to them and their satirically named "Major Minus Media". Mylo starts to feel guilty. He doesn't know where those kids are and he feels like he's responsible. He also has a gut feeling Major Minus is toying with him. U.F.O: Mylo is trying to deal with his life which has become troublesome again. He finds sanctuary in Paradise girl. And hopes one day they can get past all to this to a place where the streets are paved with gold. Princess of China: Mylo and Paradise are starting to fight. The fear of being caught and trying to manage the car kids have pushed them apart. They've lost sight of what has made them really happy and are on the verge of a break up and… Up In Flames: …they break up. Mylo can't believe there love is truly gone forever. He hasn't seen her and has tried to contact her but he just can't find her. He knows in his heart there's nothing he can do. Like they say, you don't know what you have until it's gone. That's how Mylo feels, and it's not a good feeling. A Hopeful Transmission/ Don't Let It Break Your Heart: It has been a very long time since Mylo has seen Paradise girl, but he still loves her. It one final act of love, he runs in the middle of the night to the Major Minus Media radio tower. He doesn't care if he's seen, there's no fear in his mind. He has to reach her. He runs through the streets until he reaches the tower. When he gets there, he pulls out his guitar and prays Paradise is listening. He plays Don't Let It Break Your Heart for her. Up With The Birds: The Major Minus Media tower is surrounded by soldiers. Mylo has been wanted by them for a while now and they finally have their chance to get him. He saw this coming, if he can't have Paradise it doesn't matter to him, so he took the risk to try to reach her. As the first part of the song ends Mylo looks around to see that Paradise is also in the tower. Neither of them care now if there armor "rusts in the rain". There together and everything will work out as long as they have love. The End I know that's a lot and I took a lot of creative liberties, but that's my story for you! Hope you enjoy it!
  13. There was another post like this where you can read other people's interpretations, including mine which I will post below this.:) http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=89432
  14. oasis is britpop, a sub catagory of "pop", and if pop means popular, oasis, and even kasabian qualify. That's why I think no bands can be put under such a wide genre. Also, Noel was almost a judge on the x factor this year. Ruth_42's right. Like whatever you want, don't let titles or critics tell you other wise!
  15. I don't think there a pop group at all. I think people lable things in to broad a manner. Pop is something like Justian Beiber (and there's nothing wrong with that. He's just an example) Lady GaGa would be more of Club-Pop. Dubstep type of groups would just be club music. See what I'm getting at? People just put it all under pop. I think Coldplay change there sound so much, they can't really be put under a genre. Paradise was acoustic, A Rush of Blood To The Head solidified Alternatives standing in the music buissness, X&Y was a little like ARoBTTH but with space rock elements, etc. While Mylo Xyloto continues the trend of experimentation with new sounds, songs like Paradise are very different from Lady GaGa, and might be classified as Electro-Alternative or something. I don't really know, and I actually love that. Birtpop, which Coldplay are often labled under, is very different from the kind of pop you are probally thinking about, and if anyone actual read this whole thing, here's my point. I don't think anything can just be labled under "Pop" it's to broad a subject. If you dig deeper into genres you may find something that sounds very close to Mylo Xylotos style. Hurts Like Heaven could be classified as Shoegazing. Just because something is popular doesn't make it pop music. The BEatles are popular, Happiness Is A Warm Gun is not a pop song. Led Zeppelin are popular, Dazed and Confused is not a pop song, etc. Here's an example I found. It's Waterfall by The Stone Roses. To me it's repeating riff and the way the melody is sung is very reminisent of MX. So no, Coldplay is not a pop band. But they can be just about anything they want to be.:)[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7NrLBlw9WZE&feature=fvst]The Stone Roses - Waterfall - YouTube[/ame] Sorry for the long post!
  16. Is the new single digital only, or will it be available on vinyl too?
  17. You obviously didn't finish reading the last part of my post..... I actually think that album won't be remembered along with many others on the list, that's my biggest problem with it. Back in the ninetys Aaron Carter was huge (just one of many top 40 hitmakers back then), but does anyone actual know the name of one of his albums (without looking it up). I honestly think Lady GaGa willend up like him. Just my opinion though. Are you also saying that MX will not be remembered, because in my opinion it has much better staying power.
  18. All the videos this era have been great, so I'm sure this one will be too, whatever it is, as I'm not trusting any of this until the video comes out (remember what happened with the Paradise video). I'm also sure Charlie Brown will have two videos, and I hope one is done in the style of the Charlie Brown cartoon!:D
  19. Here's The List 1. Adele - 21 2. Jay-Z and Kanye West - Watch the Throne 3. Paul Simon - So Beautiful or So What 4. Fleet Foxes - Helplessness Blues 5. Radiohead - The King of Limbs 6. The Lonely Island - Turtleneck & Chain Honestly, I think it's terrible, and not just because Coldplay was excluded (though that's a big reason). Also missing are "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds", "Suck It And See" by The Arctic Monkeys, "Different Gear Still Speeding" - Beady Eye, "Torches" - Foster The People, etc. I was glad to see Helplessness Blues on ther, El Camino, and Wasting Light on there, but as someone owning all of Radiohead's albums, I can say I do not think The King of Limbs is worthy of a #5 spot. Does anybody know how they do this list. If they do it by what score they give the album when it comes out it might make more sense, as they've been known to be hard on Coldplay and Oasis in the past, but I am still very disappointed in this list!!:veryangry2: I'm sure you all have your own opinions though, and feel free to post them, just don't bash mine.:)
  20. I don't know if you'll hear it from outside, but last time they came here they played two shows, the other at merriwheter post pavilion, so they may add another date, or come again.
