Tips on how to get autographs/meet a band at a concert
On the other side of the issue though, it's much easier to be an addict when you're a multimillionaire with the best people in the world caring for you. I do wish him the best, but there are people out there worse off than him, and they shouldn't be forgotten, just because they didn't write Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Not a dig at anyone, just trying to be fair.

You're right. Addiction is an illness, the same as anything else, I do wish him the best. Prison is a form of rehab.

When I did my list, I got up my iTunes and sorted by release date. Made a list, then put them in that way. Might help :)

Do it! He said it was one of the best live experiences he'd ever had. Sounded wonderful to be fair. There was a tour I wish I'd seen a few years back of Scroobius Pip touring the libraries of the UK. He's a spoken word poet, that would've been something different :D

Top, top list. Best I've seen so far. My mate saw Mono live in a cathedral the other day. Wish I'd gone :(

Doctor Who ???......
But somehow, the Doctor managed to get a past self of Kezran Sardick to meet himself the other Christmas without causing a paradox. As Steven Moffat says though, there are no plotholes with Doctor Who, because there is no continuity with a show that rewrites its own history.

Go to rehab for something?

Possibly the dumbest question I've asked on here
Yeah I get that, just thought you had quite an inquisitive mind to think about it.

whats on your desktop?
The beautiful Karen Gillan, aka Amelia "Amy" Pond, off Doctor Who.

Possibly the dumbest question I've asked on here
I just wondered what made you wonder, it's something that I've never considered, and I study English :P I've just always accepted our grammatical rules and never bothered finding out why we do things. We just do. In answer to your other question, I guess I deprive myself of quite a lot of other "obvious" knowledge. I'm someone who accepts things without question; I don't particularly care why I'm put on Earth, for example.

...why?

I'd say there are two strong sides to the Killers: the more electronic, more Pet Shop Boysy, side, and the rockier, more U2 side. I think that's why there's the divide between Day & Age and everything else. Crass generalisation, but hey, a theory's a theory. :P

Well of my top twenty-five, I'd say less than half were debuts, but I've not counted though. Which would mean I agree with you, established artists top debutants' efforts this year. Established artists you'd expect to have superior output; what I was trying to say was that I was impressed with the level of quality from new artists in 2012. Each to their own, though.

This ^ I would also add that bands like Mumford and Sons, Vaccines, The XX, Grizzly Bear, Tame Impala, Flying Lotus, Grimes, etc are now reaching a wider audience, so though they're not "new", they're new to some people. Have you not discovered anyone new this year, or were you waiting to rubbish the bands I was going to list?

Bit of an odd question, but does anyone on here smoke?
You say that, but they sparked homophobic riots with the lyric "Roman cavalry queers" in 2008.

I'm generally not good at making my point, but my point is that the new artists we've discovered this year have more than made up for the lack of quality material by established artists. You go into a year expecting the big albums from the big names, and though we've had few this time round, there's not been a lack of quality.

I personally have loved 2012 musically. Top year for music, it really has been. It got to about May and it became apparent that no one like Radiohead or Arcade Fire was going to come along and steal album of the year, again, and I just found that really exciting, There were all these new artists like Alt-J, Django Django, Frank Ocean, Melody's Echo Chamber, all coming along at once, and suddenly bands like The XX, Sigur Ros, Tame Impala, Grizzly Bear are regarded as people's favourite bands, seasoned regulars, when a few years ago, they were just seen as hot new bands, or someone you'd have a few tracks from on your iPod. Keane and Muse have been slightly disappointing, as have Vaccines, Two Door Cinema Club and Killers to some, so it's just nice to see a void being filled. It's just felt like this year, we haven't had to rely on megastar bands like Muse, Coldplay, Arctic Monkeys, Florence, U2 or Kasabian for our albums of the year. And now Mumfords have been announced at T in the Park, I hope this is the beginning of a new era of music. One that doesn't repeat the same headliners at the same festivals, because they're simply the biggest bands; one in which more "indie" artists like the ones mentioned are cool again. Because 2012 has delivered us some great new music, and for me, this is the start of what can be a fantastic decade of music.

You inject your own unique banter into any story, Dee. Cancer or no cancer, it's worth reading.

Radiohead
It's not that bad?

Phobias?
Or that the escalator's suddenly going to start and I'm gonna fall off :\

The official Gorillaz Thread
You have to buy it these days unless you torrent it, which is very bad indeed. Go on, torrent it. DARE you.

Same here, lost my granddad to it. My mum was only 19, it'd be a kick in the teeth for me or my sister to start. I am getting really good at rolling though; I'm on a quest to be the best person to take on a night out. I stay sober and I'm good at getting my mates with girls, so if I can roll the perfect cigarette for a drunk person, I'm at least halfway there surely.

Songs you like by artists you dislike
Fair enough, not everyone's cup of tea. :D

Why does homophobia exist?
If you are a Christian, you believe that God intended us to look after each other, but yet we still have meaningless wars being fought with innocent people trapped in the middle. There are children starving in the world and we can all do our bit to help, but most of us don't; the same goes for animals that are dumped at roadsides, global warming or deforestation. There are lots of things that God intended for the world, but homosexuality is massively unimportant in the grand scheme in things.
