  1. Critical acclaim and mainstream popularity has dropped though. Which might say a lot about wanting to go back to Hopes and Fears.
  2. It's kind of pointless, don't you think? The point of Treefingers on the album is the restore the balance after How to Disappear Completely drains you. It would be like playing Fitter Happier. :inquisitive:
  3. +1 But then I believe that Keane are generally just a poor man's Coldplay, and I don't particularly like Coldplay's contemporaries in general.
  4. I think it's a bit too ambitious. I'd rather see A Rush of Blood start to finish too.
  5. I would cut both my legs off for a new Massive Attack album. Or wait patiently. But that doesn't show the same degree of excitement. I just hope Damon features again <3
  6. I don't think they'd do that. It's the third song they've contributed and the author's a big Muser. And, it's a one-off single, so it's a moment in the spotlight; something they wouldn't like to squander. It's also a song that means a lot to Matt. It marks the end of a relationship for him. If it sounds rushed, the poorer side of their material, they're probably saving the good stuff for the new album.
  7. I've got no problem with Muse, Radiohead or anyone else lending their songs to a shitty film franchise. We need to teach the uneducated what good music is, right? In Rainbows is pretty, but it's still god-damn sad. Still my favourite record ever though. Not sure how I'd feel about happy Radiohead. Separator's kinda happy lyrically, and I dislike it.
  8. They're definitely a mood band, but luckily they have a song for most occasions. Just not joy. Definitely not joy.
  9. Thanks! I just think MX is the natural successor to VlV. Obviously X&Y had pressure too, but it doesn't sound made under pressure. And neither does this, hence the friendly tone.
  10. Maybe you should try giving it another go? Listening to it in a different light? I just think Idioteque is one of the best of the lot. Incredible melody, and the way that man sings nonsense phrases and still sounds genuinely frightened to his core... It's, in my opinion, the most astounding vocal performance of all time. That's what made Bowie so incredible, the things he could do with his voice, the things he did with melody. There are live versions that have a bit more get-up-and-go about them. Still haunting. Try them!
  11. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnT-8RIosdQ]Loose Tapestries - Swing Ball Blues - YouTube[/ame] I dare you all to watch this and not have it in your head by the end of the song.
  12. Planet Telex is genius, as is this: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KnGNOiFll4]Dan Le Sac vs. Scroobius Pip - Letter from God - YouTube[/ame]
  13. Just thought I'd share.
  14. Awards are based on popularity, critical acclaim is based on (supposed) expertise. Hence why Robbie Williams holds the record for having won the most Brit awards.
  15. If a critic has to judge two albums, one by the most ridiculed band in a decade, and one by the most critically acclaimed artist since the Beatles, which one do you think they'll mark higher?
  16. OK Computer's a work of art though. Climbing Up The Walls. Lucky. The Tourist. Literally every song on that album has inspired me one way or another, at least three have changed my opinion of music some way. But that's just me, Amnesiac's top class also; You and Whose Army is amaaaaaazing. Also includes the greatest ending lyrics to any Radiohead album. Fair enough. Soz!
  17. Do you not think Coldplay work best when they sound under immense pressure? Rush of Blood sounds like it's desperately shaking Yellow from the system (bar IMP), and Viva sounds like it's shaking X&Y. X&Y and MX sound like no-pressure continuations from the previous sound.
  18. My ranking's nearly the same, but I'd place OK Computer third. OKC Worse than Amnesiac? Man, give it another listen...
  19. Or maybe the length isn't the be all and end all of a record... The content is? I don't know why the length is such an issue to be honest. How many of us listen to 12-track albums start to finish? Few. Be thankful for an 8-track you can listen to on the way to work. Or separate easily into a four and a four. Quite frankly, I believe Radiohead to be The Beatles of our generation. I feel privileged to be living in a time where one of the greatest bands ever are still releasing music. I don't care how much of it there is, I grab it with both hands when it's uploaded!
  20. Doesn't surprise me. Read something he said about not being ambitious, trying to be bland, and it sounded like they were talking directly at them :P I'd do anything to sift through Damon's record collection though. It sounds fascinating.
  21. You should be immensely proud of that blog, the thing's a work of art! Just out of interest, I was looking through, and I saw Damon's opinion on a few artists, namely Paul McCartney... Do you know what he thinks of Coldplay? Couldn't imagine he'd like them much...
  22. Ahh that's amazing! Thanks!
  23. They were too quiet, I made them louder and didn't check properly. Fail.
  24. I would love that muchly! :D Sorry if it seems like I'm spamming. I just want everyone to hear my music (that's why I do it) and I'm stuck for where to post it. Thanks though that would be amazing. :)
  25. [ame=http://soundcloud.com/thecowjumpedoverthemoon/what-a-life]Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds - AKA... What A Life! (thecowjumpedoverthemoon remix) by thecowjumpedoverthemoon on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free[/ame] This is the last one I'll post on here for a while. I'm taking a break from doing them for a bit. I don't know if anyone actually listens, but if you do, I hope you enjoy.
