Cheers! I play keyboard. We're all at different stages of uni/work and it's a bit of a slog. I'm wondering whether it's still worth it; I've written about fifty songs this year and we've performed two.
  2. The Military Wives thing is for charity, grow up. Coldplay are the greatest band in the world regardless of chart position, and 2011 has been a great year for them. They don't need an icing on the cake. But for a choir to sell hundreds of thousands of records to support the British Legion is something actually quite commendable, so let them have that, yeah?

Hi. I'm aware I've shared my band before, but I don't think it was this link. Wondered what people thought. Improvements, etc. http://soundcloud.com/circuitchasepromo

  5. I assumed each colour would be controlled differently so one colour would light up at a time, though I didn't notice this at the gig, nor have I noticed it when I've seen the Xylobands on tv. So who knows?

Also about Car Kids, there's a Glasto setlist in the Mylo Xylotour programme that was rejected. Guess what appears? Yep.
  8. I couldn't give a shit what they are. When they showed that intro for Coldplay on X Factor, it took me right back to when I saw each video for the first time, the performance at Glastonbury, the moments when I fell deeper in love with this band. I felt proud for them that were on such a huge stage. Shame you couldn't feel that.
  9. They did pretty amazing at the Brits when they did Clocks. But then Chris thinks they always suck.
  10. Maybe he came on early. Christmas Lights is essentially a song of two halves, maybe he misjudged it.
  11. Lady Gaga is music for people that don't like music. She is as popular as she is for crazily different, which ironically, is now the norm. Her songs are good, but they are no way on God's earth any better than Chris's. Rant over.
  12. Paul McCartney did two songs. I'm all for proper bands playing on the X Factor. Show them all that there is no substitute for hard work and songwriting. But the duet thing... No.
  13. Well one of them was my 16 year old, white, middle class sister who's studied Latin rapping every line with Jay. But if you listen to a guy I know he'll tell you we're all "flaccid people who listen to flaccid music". Take your pick, Coldplay have given me two of the best nights of my life, I'm pretty happy with that.
  14. It was the weirdest thing standing in a group of mild-mannered Coldplay fans, us all singing about "strong-arming a ho", our "black asses" and the "motherfuckin' law". Whack out Smack My Bitch Up for the stadiums, please boys.
  15. Oh what is it with Swallowed in the Sea? Easily the worst song in their discography.
  16. Nope, he's a Reading obsessive and a massive Blur fan. He claims there are clues, one of them being the statement from the Reading organiser about Stone Roses not playing 2012 as it would be "inappropriate". Personally I can't see it happening either, I'm not sure if I want it to happen. It'll be three years since I saw them at Hyde Park and that was the joint-best gig of my life. Nothing's changed, and as Damon said, they've got nothing new to give. However, they have been given the Brit for Outstanding Contribution. Maybe new material is round the corner?
  17. Can anyone close to Damon confirm or deny the rumours that they're booked for Reading? My mate swears by it. My head says no.
  18. Michael Jackson's overrated. Stevie Wonder's music accomplished so much more, and he did it all with his eyes closed.
  19. Wow! That is a massive project, I could try that for her birthday! Thanks!
  20. PARA PARA... Paradise!
  21. Hi everyone. Last year I got my sister a guitar for Christmas and decorated it with Coldplay stuff. She said it was the best present she'd ever received - which was great at the time, but leaves me in a dilemma for this year! She's a massive Coldplay fan, so naturally, we've got tickets to the stadium shows. But short of Chris Martin actually coming round and playing Yellow in our front room, I'm not sure of how to top a hand-painted guitar. Does anyone have any ideas of what to get a massive Coldplay fan for Christmas? Maybe this might help someone else as well as myself!
