  1. At some other awards ceremonies like AMA, MTV, etc, winners know beforehand, but at Grammys and Oscars, I'm positive they do not. There used to be a section during the ceremony when the accounting firm that tabulated all the votes would be presented to let everyone know they were the only ones who knew the results. I no longer watch these programs as I used to, but I'm pretty sure the only winners to know beforehand are the lifetime achievement awards and such. PS. The firm Deloitte and Touche tabulates and seals the results until presentation time.
  2. Fix You was mentioned in an episode of The Good Wife, but in a negative way. This woman who was having a hard time grieving the death of her mother thought Coldplay Fix You was too cheesy.
  3. No, there are instances when somebody wins in absentia and the presenter just accepts the trophy on their behalf. The winner is not known ahead of time.
  4. As far as I know, the Grammy results are sealed until Awards time. Coldplay wasn't invited to perform, and their chances of winning are very slim. Plus, they're on break, working on a new album. I just don't see the incentive for them making a trip to LA. They went to the Grammys in 2004 b/c they had some solid nominations and Clocks won Song of the Year.
  5. Closely following, not hiding. Nice!
  6. Grohl continues to make fun of the guys, grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I'm about to hate him:angry: 1:17 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86Iy_q6ffPM&]Chelsea Lately: Nas - YouTube[/ame]
  7. Isn't there a story out there that one of them was invited to join Coldplay and refused?
  8. Did you read it somewhere? They are nominated but aren't performing, and their chances of winning are so slim.
  9. Dave Grohl might have something to say about it:)
  10. My son and his wife were able to, but Gwyneth hasn’t yet—her apartment was really damaged in [superstorm] Sandy, so they haven’t been able to stay in it. They’re redoing the whole building—it’ll take months. But hopefully when they come back, they will. I think the kids will enjoy it. Ah! I was wondering why they were staying in a hotel around New Year's Eve.
  11. Gwyneth Paltrow 'first choice' to star in American version of Downton Abbey The actress is being lined up to appear in new show The Gilded Age Gwyneth Paltrow has reportedly been approached to star in a new costume drama being helmed by Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. Julian, 63, thinks Gwyneth, 40, would be perfect for a role in The Gilded Age, which will be set in the 19th century and is slated to hit screens next year. 'Gwyneth is seen by Julian and his team as one of the best actresses in the world,' says a source. 'They have loved her work in period dramas and know what she could bring to The Gilded Age.' Gwyneth is a big fan of Downton Abbey and is believed to have asked Julian for a cameo role in the show - but they thought she was better suited for the American version. The Gilded Age will revolve around how people made their fortunes in the US through railways, oil, hotels and shipping. 'I didn't want to just try and write another British series,' Julian tells the Daily Mirror. 'And go into competition with myself.' 13. Happy bday! Is Chris really holding that tablet or did you crop that in? Seeing Jonny's pics makes me incredibly happy for some reason:)
  14. That, and the 2006 Toronto version when Chris & Jonny lay on the ramp and Chris says, we've come a long way now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUAKXzkpv_c
  15. White Shadows! The later version when Chris adds, please, please, please at the end!
  16. How rude of him (her).! Chris' voice is so calming and soothing it takes the fear away.
  17. When your son tells you his new tap dancing teacher is from the UK and the 1st question out of your mouth is, did you talk about Coldplay?
