  1. Here's another one  Chris: "Gosh Johnny, I didn't know you had the hots for me..." Johnny: "Me neither, I was just looking at the camera, and all of a sudden, it’s here… My hand found a life of its own, I swear!" Chris: "You should lay off the pot..." Johnny: " Just look at the camera and stop pretending to be so shocked..."
  2. Well, time to get this thread back on its feet :) “See, I told you the aliens were coming,,, Weee, they’ve come to see me play my guitar!”
  3. Homes, places we've grown, all of us are done for... Don't Panic I never meant to cause you trouble... Trouble So I wanna live in a wooden house, where making more friends would be easy, I wanna live where the sun comes out... We Never Change
  4. My thoughts exactly. The two songs do grow on you but it's hard to get enamoured of them... But AROBTTH is technically more superior and they have put in a lot of thought to it. It's hard to say which is better... Do you reward hard work / technical brilliance? Or is an album better simply because you like it more no matter the other criteria? Oh I don't know, I can't decide!!! :( My heart says Parachutes, my mind says A Rush. This is giving me schizophrenia
  5. Hello. <-- Me = New initiate to Turin Brakes :D Haven't read the other pages of this thread, so you guys'll have to keep me up to speed. I think they're amazing though, and like I've remarked elsewhere on this site, they're destined for great things (maybe even to the order of Coldplay)... Wow! :o Cheers people. Turin Brakes are kewl :P
  6. Turin Brakes "Rain Killer" Just simply, friggin' amazing... I predict great things in the order of Coldplay :D
  7. Thanks Ian, for all the work you put in, for us. (Just thought I'd record my appreciation ;) ) Thank you! :D
  8. Pretty self-explanatory really... Help please :D I'm just to darned lazy to check them up myself... Thanks
  9. Well, what can I say? All my 3 least favourite CP songs all listed on one page... Wonderful. Says it all, I guess... So kill me. Actually, there's never been a bad CP song (except the unfinished ones, of course - check out Amsterdam before they came out with the album version - it's still good anyway). And I bet there won't ever be, the ones officially released anyway :D Still, don't like Idiot much (the live version anyway), A Whisper and Politik are too tough on the ears (and the soul) for me to enjoy as much as all their other songs (except the last part of Politik which everyone - including me, absolutely loves) :)
  10. Haven't read the rest of the posts on this thread, but... Chris is definitely very marriable material :D There are a lot of points to qualify, but on principle, I'd say yes, if he was available and if we got along well etc. Too bad he's married now though  Good for you, Gwyn! I guess I'll have to settle for one of the other blokes then  :D
  11. Not strictly from AROBTTH but... Also, But time is on your side, is on your side... now Not pushing you down, and all around No, it's no cause, for concern Where do we go, nobody knows... I've got to say, I'm on my way, down God gave you style, and gave you grace God put a smile upon your face
  12. Love that picture... I think all the guys are so lovely in it! Johnny is actually smiling, for once :D , Will looks good (one of his better days), and I just totally love Guy's hair  I know you guys think it's totally horrendous, but I think Guy has the personality to carry it off... Besides, give him a break, he's a rock star! How many rock stars have you seen smiling in photographs after they've become one? That's three together in one photo... Priceless :)
  13. Did you guys know that there's a difference in the video shown on MSN Entertainment's Coldplay video - Moses??? Yep it's true, there are two versions: the longer one when the speed is set at 100k, and a shorter one when the speed is set at 300k (this has a cute suquence of Chris - in his usual sweet manner - kissing Johnny in his face :P ). Go check it out at http://entertainment.msn.com/Artist/?artist=124475. Click on the Watch the "Moses" video link and set your speed (100k or 300k). Anyone notice anything like that on other sites? :D
  14. A break would be good, it'd allow Chris to grow, with the baby coming and all... And I guess the other members of the band too. That'd help the new album. And it's the only right thing Chris'd do How long? I don't know... And I didn't know you could set a time frame for a parent to bond with his / her kid ??? I think arbitrating a set time for that is ridiculous. Chris'll know when it's enough though, he'll start itching to get back to music more than he yearns to be with Gwyn or the baby :D No worries that it won't happen, I have a feeling that Chris can't be separated from his music for too long
  15. I agree. Don't Panic --> A Beautiful World Shiver --> Your Direction Sparks --> One We Know; Always For You High Speed --> Inside A Bubble We Never Change --> I Wanna Live Life; Wooden House Everything's Not Lost --> Demons  Alternate name for Parachutes album --> OF SPIDER WEBS AND BUBBLES  GPASUYF --> As Good As Mine Clocks --> Seas Green Eyes --> Honey Warning Sign --> Back Into Your Open Arms A Whisper --> Clocks II :D AROBTTH --> Where I Stand; OR Buy A Gun :o Amsterdam --> On My Way; Fading Star Brothers and Sisters --> Time Of Your Life I Bloom Blaum --> Those Tired Eyes See You Soon --> Lost Your Trust or Bulletproof Vest :P
  16. Don't Panic on Igby Goes Down. The show came out in 2002/2003, perfectly screwed up in a very endearing sort of way :) Kieran Culkin was amazing, his kid brother (Rory) looks so much like him... Ryan Phillipe was his usual cool, wicked, twisted self... Susan Sarandon, Jeff Goldblum, Amanda Peet, Claire Daines... Go watch! If only for the CP song  That was just so totally appropriate (for that part of the show)... :D MmmMmm
  17. I agree with you there, I think the title will be mind-blowing, a revelation at least. It'll reflect the mood the guys're in and what the CD's trying to say. I predict... It'll be named after one of the songs (at least after one of the lines from a song) :smartass: Anyway, it'll be terrific! Hmm... What else? The usual suspects... Tracks: same as usual- 11 (including hidden or otherwise), and Moses(prays fervently) Singles: 4 or 5; tracks used will be the first few from the album Release date: 23 June 2005 (Special interest there :) ) But I think it'll probably be nearer to 22 November 2004. Dunno what direction the album will take though. But I don't care, I'm getting it! :D I know them well enough now to trust that it'll be a fecking good album (and probably reflective / relevant to how the world is - how I'll feel about my world - by the time when the album's released) :guitarist: Baby tracks? I don't think so, much as it'd be interesting... It'd be a lovely surprise though if one turns out :P No 'old' songs will be on the new album. *sigh* I do wish though that they'd release an album with a collection of all their miscellaneous / old songs. Wishful thinking I guess :) I feel wistful. Neways, it'll be a long wait...
  18. Coldplay all the way!!! I find their music very uplifting. And any other soothing songs... Makes me feel like everything's gonna be alright and that it's alright that the world's not perfect. Ahhh :dozey:
  19. ... in good for its own sake.
  20. Oh why did you have to ask this question now??? I can't vote. I'm torn between... Two years ago when LOTR first came out it definitely would have to be Viggo. Now, after Pirates, and tonnes more of TV appearances, interviews etc (vs. the quieter Mr. Mortensen), I can't choose! I'm confused. Orlando is apparently a much deeper and finer actor than he lets on... :D Pretty boy does not equal inability to act / lack of other attributes. *sigh* Orlando certainly does not deserve to have the proverbial cake and eat it!!! :P Well that's just me being jealous! Well having analysed this, I guess I'll go for Orli then (better a devil known than an angel unknown) :D Btw, I'm a girl

To get back to the topic of the thread... 1. The book you're reading now - a Pathology book (life as a med student sucks) 2. Last book you've read - LOTR (parts of it for the umpteenth time since I first read it 3 years back) 3. Next book you wanna read - The Life of Pi by Yann Martel (unlikely given the fact I've a backlog of textbooks to read  ) :D 4. Your fave books/writers - LOTR (JRR Tolkien), The Beach (Alex Garland), Passage To India (JM Forster), Dickens, Agatha Christie from my limited reading.
