  1. Haha, which one? :P
  2. Freedom... people! Don't ban it?
  3. The Scientist... Trouble
  4. Woo! Same here! Wait, I'm 158. 5'2. Woot! Short Malaysians.... :P C'mon, for Malaysians (or Asians), we're a'right... Where I'm at, I'm even a little bit on the tall side :wink3:
  5. ^ That's closer to about 5"8 I think... I'm about 157cm (or 5"2 or so)
  6. nah i prefer parachutes there was a certain rawness and spontaneity about it that i think they can never get back nonetheless i look forward to the new album Talk is my current fave :D I suppose what I'm trying to say is in AROBTTH (and what I've heard in many songs after that)... they've become more self-conscious... As badlydrawngirl wrote, there's less spontaneity... And yes, Talk rawks! :D
  7. ^ Definitely. It's the only country-type song that I'll even listen too... Best part is, I like it... A lot! :D
  8. Experts say that as long as they are at the same intellectual level, that is the most important factor in whether the relationship will succeed... However sometimes I wonder whether the difference between their life stages (e.g. high school student vs working) with their inherent issues might be too much to overcome?
  9. Me! Though I've only heard one of their songs... They're good :)
  10. Thanks for the "sneak peak" Albie :D
  11. I think I randomly found it as well. I was on the coldplay.com board first I think... and wasn't satisfied so I was looking for something else. Yep, this is the best CP board eva!
  12. Hahaha! Thats likely. :D Yes kirst! But we may as well mix it up a bit eh? :smug: Glad you agree!
  13. Trouble... Followed closely by Amsterdam. Clocks has a great line though... so much energy!
  14. Same here, same here... Green Eyes is just beautiful. Too bad it's about a wrong love, guess we won't be hearing it then  It's such a lovely song Congrats you've found a lovely wife :D
  15. Lyrics in songs don't influence how much I like a song. Of course some songs are beautiful because the lyrics frame a story perfectly, but so many great songs have lyrics that are totally unrelated from line to line, then there are songs that have no meaning whatsoever but still sound great... Many of Bob Dylan's songs belong to the first category... so do jazz & blues songs as well as folk / country. Rock (in all its various forms) tends to belong to the second. And in the third... u'd have avant garde music e.g. Radiohead (since Kid A), Bjork and all those weird, eccentric, little bands out there :D
  16. Yeah, it's about how violence and war isn't the answer to anything and that nothing is worth fighting (or dying) for. The thing that strikes me about that lyric is the provocative manner in which Chris is singing it... Like "Hell yeah, isn't the world a bad enough place already (without adding on to its ugliness some more)?" It makes me feel sad and anguished at the same time...
  17. *It was ultra-commercial, linked to a soppy, gooey Hollywood movie, and Bryan Adams sang like he had something stuck in his throat!! Go and get your ears syringed!! :) ^ Doesn't this sound familiar... ultra-commercial: Coldplay nowadays? Though thank God they're not fleecing us (at least not yet  ) soppy, gooey Hollywood movie: Igby Goes Down (ok, the movie was not soppy nor gooey nor was it made in Hollywood... but it wasn't exactly obscure either) singing like there's something stuck in the throat: Now, isn't that what Chris does all the time??? So if Coldplay don't belong in pop garbage why should "Everything I Do..." belong there too??? :o :P :D
  18. I've a feeling that's what Chris is trying to convince himself of (that fan's opinions don't matter a twat to the direction of music they're taking)... But I think he prolly secretly does browse through what we say... he being the neurotic & perfectionist he is :D And I'm sure he's a very happy man
  19. If I recall correctly, Baldwin's a good brand... I think we don't hear about it too often precisely because it's expensive compared to lets say a Yamaha or a Petrof etc. Of course it's probably no Steinway Grand either :P
  20. I'm a bit chagrined too :/ The funny part about the whole thing was that I had to listen to Talk first before I started appreciating how complex (yet still moving) the song is... That was a revelation :o
  21. Don't know about hating it... But that SoS reminds me of Clocks certainly doesn't make loving SoS any easier (esp. since for some reason I don't think Clocks is particularly exceptional) I do wish I could feel differently tho :embarrased:
