"Coldplay pay millions as they splash out on freebies for fans at their gigs" according to this, the band made a pre-tax profit of 14 million pounds from the mylo tour. sounds like a very small sum for this big a band's world tour no? I was surprised..

hopefully this will turn out to be an academy awards nomination. Similarly, Coldplay largely keeps things delicate for its closer to "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire." From Chris Martin's comforting vocals and just a solitary, melancholic piano melody, the song soon gets more mystical as digital effects are subtly worked in. link

^ of course! don't take me wrong.. I am looking forward to the academy awards nominations. if atlas does get nominated, the chances of them performing there would be pretty good I think. considering usually they have multiple musical performances in the oscars.

I don't think they would attend at all. These 2 award presentations are probably not broadcast and chances of them performing we can argue are none. Also remember that they didn't attend even though they had a couple of nominations this year. Regarding Live 2012, I think Coldplay are not credited in the award even though it is their movie. So even if they win it, I don't think it would necessarily be a 'coldplay' win..

Coldplay are nominated for 2 grammys for 2014: Atlas for "Song Written for Visual Media" and Live 2012 for "Music Film" The chances for Atlas seem slim with Adele's skyfall also being nominated this year.. link

^ what you have to remember is that this is a very small venue compared to their usual concert venues. and also, it's not just a coldplay concert. there are other artists too. and congrats to all who bought tickets. i for one am looking forward to full reports with loads of awesome videos.. the consolation prize for not being able to attend myself.
