Don't forget that he has a couple of lyrical masterpieces in their back catalogue. like viva la vida and violet hill. when he is really inspired by something, i think he can lyrically be great as well. but I have to say, lyrically MX was not in par with some of their previous work. maybe sticking to a storyline, or at least trying to,was the challenge there. anyway, as for LP6, chris' comment about pop music in general during MX is a little worrying. Hopefully the whole band effect would take them somewhere unique for the next one.

oh.. too bad.. I'll download it if and when I get a chance but not sure. anyway he mentions pros and cons about working with friends, specifically Chris who has been his best friend since childhood. cons being locking horns a lot since they are competitive. also that when he left right before rush of blood that his and Chris' friendship was 'strained' and 'something had to give'. about the tense recordings and being the casting vote when the band are arguing over a song. those were some of the band specifics he spoke about. then a lot more about the early days and how to land a recording deal, dealing with record label, etc. i know how frustrating it is when internet is on the way :) so hope this helps.

I have a presentation at an international research conference coming up and one of the slides is just the fuzzy man walking gif :) what I'm presenting is related to gait so going to have the fuzzy man walking in the background for a whole minute while I talk about my research. let's see if anyone would recognise.

came across this interview with Jo Whiley at the brits. http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p015d47l seems like there are some things happening behind the scenes. specially what Whiley said about her knowing that there are things to come. anyway, it seems like it will be a while until we get to know any official details about LP6. they don't seem keen to give anything away, at least for now. maybe they don't have anything concrete yet. anyway, i'm sure chris must have a bunch of songs that he has written already. he seems like the kind of guy who can work something up alone before bringing it to the others.
