8. CHRIS MARTIN, TIM MCGRAW, SLASH CONTRIBUTE TO ROCK LTD WATCH COLLECTION In News by Brian LiptonApril 27, 2016Leave a Comment Nixon Watches and the Recording Academy have partnered for Rock Ltd, a limited edition group of 13 watches made from the old leather pants, jackets, boots, belts and guitar straps donated by a variety of music and sports icons. Proceeds from the sales go to support the MusiCares MAP Fund, a charity that provides members of the music community access to addiction treatment and recovery services. Among the participating celebrities are Coldplay front man Chris Martin, rap legend Eminem, Grammy winner Macklemore, Slash from Guns N’ Roses, James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica, country singer Tim McGraw, and skateboard pioneer Tony Hawk. “Being in the music world carries its own particular challenges to staying sober. But for everyone who is in recovery, there is one common thread – the first step to recovery is to know you need help and to ask for it,” said Slash. “The MusiCares MAP Fund is that answer for music people, and that’s why I wanted to be a part of the Nixon Rock LTD Collection.” Each watch is individually, hand-numbered to denote its rarity. Additionally, each watch features a custom, etched caseback with the name of the artist and is packaged with a certificate of authenticity from Nixon and MusiCares. In addition to select Nixon stores around the world, participating retailers include Westime, RonRobinson | Fred Segal Melrose, Feldmar, and Placio De Oro. source
9. it has been getting amazing press in the US too lately. better late than never.
10. hey you made it way too pervy sounding! :laugh3: seriously though, a raw scream is quite the contrast to the coldplay sound we get today (except maybe midnight). would love to see a song like twisted logic make the tour in all it's glory.
11. my fav live scream is on this one. too bad it's "low" quality :)
12. think that comment was more in jest too. i mean the band have said UWTB they have no idea how to play, and i can understand that. too bad. probably the best song in mx.
13. I was reminded by somebody that Chris and guy fought over the whisper at a sound check too. Maybe I'm misremembering :)
14. i can't remember which interviews they were on. but think it was during viva or mx.
15. never read his book. so no idea if this was mentioned there. i've heard the band talk about this in interviews a couple of times :) it was funny!
16. then welcome to the time killing vortex :)
17. how it sounded i think.
18. the reason why they didn't play it (according to them) is because chris and guy almost got in to a fist fight over the song in the sound check :laugh3:
19. awwww...
20. that was just fantastic! i really didn't think it was twisted logic! now that chris and guy and more mature and nicer to each other, maybe they can try this again? ;)
21. no idea! the chances are it was something that was already played at the c-stage. edit: scratch that. never performed live! wonder what it was.
22. Chris Martin Surprises Audience at Middle School Chris Martin of Coldplay showed up to a fundraiser this weekend supporting cancer research, which was put on by 8th graders in LA. He sang Coldplay’s Fix You with the 8th graders. Chris also played a 10-year-old Coldplay song which he said the band has never performed live… but he managed to do it with a bunch of 8th graders. Too funny. source
23. true, but don't think that was intentional :laugh3:
