Coldplay World Tour 2016 - 2017 Discussion
hmm.. i'm not sure. i can't seem to remember coldplay talking about prince as a huge influence, except for that half time show tribute. (i mean prince' was one of the best half time shows after all). but we've heard a lot about david bowie from coldplay, for the longest time.

Up&Up To Become The Next Single From A Head Full of Dreams
looks like they really don't care about singles. makes you wonder if the band even heard and approved the final radio cut.

This is interesting.
i'm still baffled by the random, only one song thing that seems to be going on here. like i said before, you can see a lot of ad lib and audience interaction from chris in other songs. pretty clearly live.

New to the page!
Hi Reece, welcome to coldplaying :) I think the reason why so many fans in South America got to meet the band is because of their hard core dedication. But who knows. You just might!

Random Coldplay thoughts...
they are simply amazing! i've been catching up on the rare c-stage performances today and the reception of even a b-side song like see you soon is simply fantastic! just how many people are singing along to it? in the US, most people in the audience wouldn't even know the song, let alone appreciate it.

Chris and Jonny
hahaa! couldn't help laughing at the first question! probably more annoyed than jelly. and i do think in real life, jonny is tighter with will. haven't we seen them hanging out on their time off much more? and like you said, will was the best man at jonny's wedding. no idea about the godfather. chris and jonny do seem to have an incredible bond though, since the early days. i think chris and phil are probably the closest of the whole bunch.

glad you are feeling better! 9 days is a looong stay. yeah, let's hope it gets to coldplay. amazing what their music can achieve! when seeing videos like this, it makes me realize just how invalid and baseless all the harassment coldplay gets for writing emotionally driven songs. (music is subjective afterall) no wonder they've learnt to not care much about the haters any more.

the single will be released in the US on the 26th. source- This is interesting.
jonny and guy lip syncing has been happening at least since viva. i remember a chinese sleep chant video where guy clearly forgets to mimic that deep voiced section. will, not sure since when he started that. it really is disappointing if chris is doing this. but like i said before, all of the song clips i have seen, you can clearly see it is live. i didn't watch any clocks videos since it is the same as before. did anyone compare the final shows' clocks performances in mexico?- [Billboard] Coldplay Among Most Charitable U.K. Musicians in 2015
Elton John, One Direction Among Most Charitable U.K. Musicians: Report 4/19/2016 by Lars Brandle Elton John performs on Jan. 13, 2016 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles. LARRY BUSACCA/GETTY IMAGES FOR ISLAND RECORDS Elton John has another No. 1: he’s topped a list of the most generous celebrities in the U.K. The "Rocket Man" handed out £26.8 million ($38 million) to charitable causes in 2015, according to the "Sunday Times Giving List," with much of that goodwill benefiting Aids foundations on both sides of the Atlantic. John was well ahead of the second-place-getter, Harry Potter author JK Rowling, who donated £10.3 million ($14.7 million) to her two charities, The Lumos Foundation and the Volant Charitable Trust. Other musicians to make the list include Ringo Starr, who raised and donated more than £6 million ($8.5 million) through an auction of Beatles memorabilia, and Coldplay, which donated £1.7 million ($2.4 million). One Direction joined Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor in the list, jointly at No. 10, having each donated £1.1 million ($2.4 million). Now that more full song listens and comparisons are coming out, it really is worrying if that's the case. The thing is, you can see that most of the concert is very interactive and live. I haven't watched all the generally performed songs live on this tour, but seems like this is the only song where Chris' is tucked away from the ordience without much interaction. (And the lack of interaction with the audience is damning too). If coldplay are doing this, and just for one song, Chris voice might really be suffering/strained. And this tour is turning out to be a very long and exhaustive one too! Maybe that's part of the reason.- Random Coldplay thoughts...
I remember Jonny saying in an interview that for everyone except for his mom, he is Jonny. His mom calls him Jonathan :)- A Head Full of Dreams Music Video
You'd think there was actually something concrete out already to get in to such a detailed argument as to why this is the next peg down for coldplay on their downward spiral. Let's all just calm down and wait for them to release this thing first. But I get the worry specifically with the MVs going by the recent track record. - Random Coldplay thoughts...
