a big no no for warning sign from me too. i'd love to see something like what they did at paralympics. 42, violet hill, god put a.., viva, etc, but that's the coldplay fanatic talking. but realistically, they have to be the big hits. it's going to be be interesting with the collabs and all :)

imo, in the grand scale of things. coldplay have never been cool and whatever opinions people might have towards the latter output definitely won't overshadow the earlier work to define coldplay long term. coldplay were a rather uncool band and always will be. in the landscape of rock n roll, even alternative, they are outliers, misfits in the vein of abba (edit: not saying abba is rock :) ). speaking of long term, does anyone think coldplay will ever be inducted to rock and roll hall of fame? maybe i should start a separate thread about this.

i think the uk hates them the most. then again, look at articles even from a place like australia. coldplay hate is an international hobby, sadly..

i understand your point. i feel the same way about uif. and did feel like that about everglow when i first heard it. but the live version is starting to grow on me. i like the live version much better than i initially did like the song.

i really wish coldplay had done it around 2009. and according to chris, they were the second in line after bruce. that would have been an ultimate coldplay show, when coldplay were on better form, both commercially and critically, more so than now. but coldplay are great live performers. let's see how this turns out :)
