1. Would love to see more songs like Gold Rush. More a little offbeat, whole band contributions. But slim chance I guess.
2. Am I the only one that thinks Will makes for a great backing vocalist but not so much as a lead? It could be a different story on record (vs live) though. I'm hoping for more weird voice productions, low register songs.
3. IIRC usually there are multiple teasers with LP/first single announcements. So a proper song snippet should be coming up I think.
4. Yeah have a feeling they would embed a Yeah I want to see that Chris and Guy's acoustic clip too. A proper song snippet next world be great.
5. Ok everyone. Back to the original topic. Think we'd get another teaser today? Or any this weekend?
6. I think we might have been unnecessarily biased towards expecting an experimental album based on a random tabloid article. One of those really unreputable tabloids at that. That's on us. I'm letting that idea go and keeping an open mind from now on.
7. What I've generally seen with Coldplay is Coldplay embrassing the producer's sound more than vice versa whenever they collaborate with not-so-coldplay producers. That seems to be their intention. I like the Avicii version of ASFOS way more than the Coldplay version. But we'll see.
8. Someone said that the two producers tagged in timbaland's post were the E-lo producers. Have to say I'm a little disappointed with this info. Similar influences since GS. But trying to keep an open mind. Maybe they would have contributions in some songs and are not the album producers.
9. Uh-oh timbaland and a couple of associated producers seem to have worked on this album. Really no idea what to make of this album now.
10. We got a teaser before the end of Friday!! Liking what I'm hearing so far. But really hard to gauge what to expect. Could be a piece of a song that is drastically different to the rest of the song, or piece of a song that fits the song generally but the rest of the album is so different. Like midnight vs ghost stories. Want more Coldplay, please and thank you.
11. Oh well.. nothing it is. I'm off to work. Hopefully we'll get something before it is Saturday for the whole world.
12. Welcome to the forum :)
13. Hey there :) no matter the downtime, we always get together here for the start! Love that we have no idea what to expect.
14. We might get something in 10 minutes or 70 minutes. Western world is awake, and is a good time to do a press release. We'll know soon enough. They won't wait another whole week to drop at least a teaser. That would kill the momentum the band has built this week. Hard to sustain it for another week without any official announcement.
15. I was half expecting an announcement, a teaser or something for 9 PDT. Looks like not happening. Maybe something at midnight EST?
16. Just spent an hour catching up on the thread. Hello everybody! Fool's gold looks more and more promising! And a leak not from Chris? Maybe the album will be experimental. For real.
17. Lmao this is fantastic Mobile Link: https://twitter.com/JohnMotter/status/1075124547869761536
18. I absolutely love the film! From a band who are pretty tight lipped when it comes to revealing their real dynamics, this is gold! And can't help but think that this is mostly down to Mat and his relationship with the band. That said, there are so many holes and unexplored content here. I feel like Guy is the only one who opened up more than expected. Imagine that!! Chris obviously cops out the most. Could be that he compartmentalizes or just does not want to revisit. And Mat seems protective of the band enough that he may not have pushed on the harder areas. After watching the movie several times (so far!) it leaves me wanting more. Not to mention the lack of/non-existent viva, mx eras. Still, this is more than I ever expected out of live 2017! Makes me think that this may be the most in depth look we may ever get from the band about the not-so-rosy parts of their history.
19. Well, Dave seems to be dropping hints about an album and a tour next year! Add the post-credit scene from the movie, this just might be realistic for us optimists. https://variety.com/2018/music/news/coldplay-documentary-interview-dave-holmes-mat-whitecross-1203028114/amp/?__twitter_impression=true
20. Hope you get better soon. I can imagine how crushed you are to miss it.
21. You know I have a feeling that Coldplay stay away from the royal family in general. The only events they ever participated are for prince Harry's charities. Never performed in that loyal something or other performance that happens regularly with big name performers. Think it has to be intentional and have a feeling that they will not be. The fact that they haven't had one of the lesser titles like Adele, Ed Sheeran might be a hint too.

Welcome to coldplaying!
23. Of course people are responsible for their own decisions. Doesn't change the fact that the situation was very poorly handled. I wouldn't say for such a major band the band doesn't have a say. But of course ultimately this may come down to local authorities and tour promoters. Still poorly handled.
24. I agree some group will be pissed off no matter how this was handled. The thing is, this was a category 3 hurricane since early yesterday at least, with expected rainfall of over 15-20 inches in Houston. There is a track record of how the city handles large rainfalls, and it is not good. Like @I ran away said, there are quite a few people unnecessarily in the path of a hurricane because of this decision to wait until hours before the show. Anyway, I'm lucky because I'll catch them later when they come my way. But I feel that for an event of this scale, it was poorly managed. From the band's perspective, they may have have thunk they were putting the fans first by delaying the go no-go decision. But actually for the most part, it was not. Especially with the possibility of rescheduling and not cancelling altogether. Now I'm getting out of here quickly before possible flooding and getting stranded. On Ticketmaster's side, they sent out emails and calls right away with info on getting a refund if needed.
25. Very disappointed that they took this long to announce the rescheduling. Could have been done yesterday. Flew all the way from WA last night even with the possibility of getting stranded here for a couple of days. A lot of people could have avoided a lot of travel pains if they had taken precautions and made a definitive decision. Especially since it is obvious that a lot of people are travelling to the city in such a scattered stadium tour stop. That said, great that they are rescheduling. But I won't be attending.
