Metacritic actually censored Orpheus' lil marble penis. :disappointed: Looks like this album will be substantially lower rated than the previous 2. It is a lot like The Suburbs, very good but not as stunning as Funeral and not nearly as focused as Neon Bible. I think it's even more uneven than The Suburbs. The high points are amazingly high while the low points and the length weigh the album down. Hope this will be a signal for them to focus on quality rather than quantity because this is really unnecessarily long (the hidden track and the Supersymmetry appendix are pretty useless + a couple of altogether redundant songs) and the 2 distinctive sides of the double album are not distinctive enough. Also the lyrics are pretty typically AF which can be an annoyance in some songs. But overall I'm impressed because 2/3 of the album are perfect and I think this is sonically a step in the right direction.

Yeah. All of the songs feel more restrained on the record. Especially NP. But some are a lot better than the live versions, like HCTNT.

Oh it's definitely a stand-out track. In a dumb lalala way. It just doesn't fit the album at all. I want it to not exist. :angry:

It's on "the most famous torrent site" and it's the real deal :dazzled: but it's only been uploaded to 35% at the moment. Edit: Over 50% now. It's not a great rip (vinyl or something) but it sounds OK. LOTS of bass. :drunk:

Cute but cringey throughout. He needs the band. This shows yet again that his greatest power as a songwriter is melody. The less they screw with it in the studio, the better. Sadly.

:sad: I kinda get you, I didn't like a lot of the new songs. Just give it time I guess, they grew on me, all of them. For instance, I did not care for Afterlife on SNL but ever since the teasers and the full single today, I can't get it out of my head. :bomb: Also I LOVE and We Exist, but I like all the songs really, especially the big picture, the whole direction they went with this album.
