[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Very much agreed. And I feel like Toyota Pavilion is a much better venue (and much more intimate) than Hersheypark Stadium. Maybe Chris just really likes chocolate...

I think I'm going to skip the Hershey deal and grab a ticket to the last night of All Points West with this refund. Sounds like a better deal to me.

Interesting thing about Livenation I just found out: when you call their customer service number, it answers and puts you on hold whether they're open or not. I just found out their customer service number is only open from 10 AM - 5 PM Eastern on Monday through Saturday. But for some reason, when I called about an hour ago, they still let me sit on hold for 55 minutes until I finally found this out. Awesome, right?

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
I'm just curious to see what better things Coldplay has planned rather than playing Scranton on May 29th... Although, who else from the Scranton area thinks it's hilarious to see SCRANTON as the big story on coldplay.com? Even if it is terrible news!

Sorry for being right, guys. I was hoping this would all end up being a rumor, too. And I was flying in from college in California to come home for this one, so I'm not sure if I can come home for Hershey the weekend before. This sucks so bad. If anything hears anything about the good Hershey tickets, please do post or PM. I really need to go see them somewhat close to home.

North American Tour 2009 - Support Acts announced (New Acts added: 31-Mar)
Is Snow Patrol really only on "opener" status in America? I feel like they'd be a bit bigger...then again, this is Coldplay. Too bad I'm missing them by a week though! Well, at least I get to see Elbow in August! :)

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Just got word from a friend who "heard it through the grapevine from someone at the venue" that this show was going to be cancelled. Anyone else hear anything about this? I think it's REALLY hard to believe, as it's in line with all of their other shows that week, so unless they're going to cancel the entire leg of the tour in May, why would they cancel just this show? My friend, whom I do trust, is claiming this to be a "reliable source." But I don't really buy this at all. Especially since there's been no indication of such a thing. So take it with a massive grain of salt. I'm just really worried, so I thought I'd worry the whole of the Coldplay community at large with a rumor I just got passed to me from beautiful Scranton. I guess we'll find out...

White Lies
Saw White Lies last night and all I can say is, "WOW." Really hope these guys hit it big in America because they were awesome live last night. I saw them at this tiny little venue in Philly and was in the front row and was basically on the stage. Also, Friendly Fires played last night too and were ridiculously good. The lead singer is a crazy dancer and came down into the crowd (right next to us) and danced around during On Board. Really great show. If you're in the US and White Lies/Friendly Fires comes around, definitely go check them out. Terrible cameraphone pictures (and totally unzoomed, mind you):

Last.fm won't be free.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Going to second the other suggestion I saw on here. Check Wilkes-Barre, Pittston, Clarks Summit...anything right on I-81 essentially. Don't limit yourself to downtown Scranton, as there's tons of places relatively close that are all probably manageable. Of course, the nicest hotels in the area would be the Radisson or Hilton in downtown Scranton, if that's what you're going for!

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Interesting thing I just noticed as well, during the time when the Scranton tickets went on sale, there was no "Pit/100 Level" option for tickets. Now there is, though granted, it does call it "unavailable." However, if you go on the "pick and click seating map" they just added on Livenation, it does indeed show a sold out GA Pit on there. If there's a pit that they did not make available to us normal fans AT ALL, that's an even bigger travesty.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Agreed. The last concert I saw at Montage was Kanye back in May last year. I bought tickets in Kanye's presale and sat in the right 100 section, Row K. Easy as that. Got the tickets as soon as they went on sale. That was the last one of the really huge concerts at Montage that I can think of, too. (Barring DMB, who I absolutely despise.) Come to think of it, ANY other concert at Montage that I've been to--I've never had a problem getting tickets anywhere but the 100 section. And I've been to many of them.

Your Ticket Issues: Pricing; Availability; Seats etc (previously titled presales are bull)
Exceptionally wrong information. I've never been able to get "great" seats on Ticketbastard even when I'm ALWAYS refreshing as soon as tickets go on sale. It's just not possible. For example, general sale for Scranton, PA...I submitted my request at 11:00:04 (checked my page logs in my browser), and you know what I got? Section 103, Row HH. Yes, in the front section, but the absolute LAST row. And certainly not worth 130 bucks when the seats on the other side of the aisle behind me would have been 30 dollars cheaper. Ridiculous.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
I mean, I love Coldplay, but this is ridiculous. Unless they're planning on "upgrading" half the lawn or something. Seriously, though? None of the other shows seem to have this much premium seating taken away from the fans.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
I'm really glad I just got tickets in the presale yesterday. Tried Reserved 1 as soon as they went on sale today, and got a pair allllll the way on the side in Section 103, Row HH. (Not really worth it when compared to the Section 204, Row F, dead center I already have). Then I tried reserved 2 for the heck of it and only got 205, Row V. All in all, I made a good decision yesterday. I also sent an e-mail to Rocky and Sue on KRZ (radio station giving out Coldplay tickets in Scranton) essentially throwing them a sob story about how I'm a huge Coldplay fan from Scranton. I also said I would do literally anything for the best tickets they had. Apparently, they read it on the radio this morning, but didn't want to give me tickets. Nor did they have the courtesy to e-mail me back. Ouch.

I'm with all of you. 7 AM rolls around (I'm on the West Coast buying tickets) and I get absolutely NOTHING. Ten minutes later, I finally find some tickets in the second section. An hour later, I've given up finding anything good and resign myself to half decent seats in the second section that I luckily managed to come up with. It's ridiculous. What happened to catering to the fans? It's impossible with these ticket conglomerates.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
And I just pulled my best seats of the day. Section 204 in Row F and decided to follow SwallowedInSea's lead...they're probably the same as the last row 100 section tickets I might pull tomorrow and about 20 bucks cheaper each.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Sounds like a good idea on that one! I'm only 5-10 minutes away usually myself, but I just happen to be in college in California at the moment. So I woke up at 7 AM out here to get taken down by the Livenation machine. I really hope we have better luck tomorrow.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
The best tickets I ever saw during this presale were section 204, Row V. Now call me Mr. Greedy, but I think I can do better. God, I'd be willing to take lawn seats and pray for an upgrade instead. :laugh4:

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Ticketrush still not working at all--and there's absolutely nothing left that's worthwhile in the radio presale. :( Guess I'm going to try my luck with the masses tomorrow morning.

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Is the presale not working for anyone else? I can't pull anything at all...not even lawn tickets. Wtf?

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
Yep, I've been there many times before! Honestly, while the seated part is pretty big, it's not massive by any means. So if you're in any of the sections in the 100s, you'll have a fantastic view. I was row V of 103 for Kanye West last year and was still exceptionally close (more so than you'll ever be in an arena, anyway). 200s are further back still, but I wouldn't be too sad to end up there. Further away, but you can still see fine. If I were you, I would aim for the 100s, though. I think everything is covered except the last few rows of the 200s. Lawn is lawn. I'd never go there, but people enjoy it. Also, as a note, if you're planning on coming to the Scranton show, make sure you get there at least like 2 hours early. The venue is only like a few miles off I-81, but there's only one access road up the mountain and traffic is known to be horrendous at really popular events. The venue has only ever entirely sold out a show once before (Dave Matthews Band's first show up there a couple years ago), but I think this one is absolutely 100% guaranteed to sell out. In my mind, it's the biggest show they've ever had up there. So you'll want to drive up early, that's for sure.

White Lies
Just got tickets to check out White Lies (along with Friendly Fires) in about two weeks. Can't wait--going to be an awesome show, I think!

[CANCELLED] 29-May-2009: Toyota Pavilion, Scranton, PA, USA
I wouldn't have bought tickets for Mansfield in August if i knew they'd actually announce a Scranton date a few weeks later (really, though, who saw this coming?). So now I get to see Coldplay three times this summer--I'm not complaining.

My lowly hometown!!!!! I'm flying all the way back across the country from college in California just for this show. I can't believe it!
