Coldplay - Prospekt's March EP (Review thread)
Oh, don't worry. I've been on the leak bandwagon for any major release by one of my favorite bands for years now. After all, if it's available, why not listen? I don't have that much willpower. :laugh4:

Coldplay - Prospekt's March EP (Review thread)
It's hilarious how with VLV everyone was like, "I'm going to be patient and not listen to the leak. I waited three years, I can wait a few more days." And now for Prospekt's March, everyone is saying, "OMG PLZ LEAK LAWLZ." Or some variation therein...

LEAK NOW. I cannot wait any longer. :laugh4:

HELP PLEASE!! -- Desperately searching for a Coldplay song...
My suggestion would be Don't Panic? But you said you've looked through their albums, so perhaps not...in that case, I'd say I Bloom Blaum as well. Very good suggestion there, although I think the lyrics are pretty easy to understand, so who knows? Try Ode to Deodorant.

Better not be getting my hopes up on that one! :laugh4:

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
This is one of #42's best blogs! Definitely a real insight into the workings of the band that we'd probably never get to see otherwise. Really awesome.

Fave Song From Prospekt's March Preview!
Easily Life in Technicolor II. From the 1:25, I can tell it's one of the best songs Coldplay have absolutely ever done.

Exclusive Preview Of Prospekt's March! (Courtesy of EMI, 5th November 2008)
http://www.coldplay.com/oracledetail.php?id=124&page=180 The Oracle said back on August 20: "The album version of Life in Technicolor has an intro before it starts which is indeed the same as the backing music of The Escapist. What you hear is actually an adapted version of Jon Hopkin's track Light Through The Veins. For those who don't know The Escapist is a hidden track tagged onto the end of Death And All His Friends. Anyway, yes there is a full version of Life in Technicolor with lyrics that's about 2 minutes longer than the instrumental version. Very nice it is too. Sure you'll get to hear it one day..."

Exclusive Preview Of Prospekt's March! (Courtesy of EMI, 5th November 2008)
I can get only some bits of it, but hardly the whole thing: So you wrote it on the wall The hollow (?) list of *something* There's nothing wrong at all Television's sitting in plastic (?) The *something* Saying nothing at all And we chant: Stars in heaven and *something* Oh-whoa-whoa-whoa! (and so on) That was a pretty terrible attempt. Someone show me up, please! :laugh4:

The studio version of Spaceman just got released on iTunes today. Anyone have it and/or care to upload?? It sounds AWESOME from the streaming version I've heard.

General Chat: Setlist
If I recall, they played it at nearly every Twisted Logic show. (At least the two I was at!) They're just not playing it during the Viva tour, which is unfortunate, as it really is one of their BEST songs in my opinion.

My Chris Martin Jacket(Halloween Costume)(Creating your own VLV outvits)
I'm doing the same thing, but yours is much better than mine! I only decided on doing this about three days ago and had to grab a jacket from Goodwill, which is alright, but not really in the "military style" so the buttons are off, but I don't think anyone will care anyway. :laugh4: I'm just hoping someone actually recognizes who I am! What did you use for your armbands? They look nice--I just cut some strips out of old T-shirts.

Best music video they've done, hands down.

Lovers In Japan Video Premieres Fri 31/10 on iTunes
If you go on iTunes, and switch your store to the United Kingdom store (link on the bottom of the music store homepage), then search Lovers In Japan, you can watch a 30 second preview of the video. Basically, the preview gives you the first verse and chorus...the band members write out the lyrics as they're sung. And when it hits the chorus, the camera starts rotating. Really cool stuff. LINK HERE: http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewVideo?id=294730617&s=143444 If you're in the UK, you can buy it. Otherwise, a 30 second preview to whet the appetite!

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
So jealous, especially after the SF show I was supposed to go to on Tuesday was postponed. God, now I have to wait a month and a half until I see them! :laugh4: AND CHANGE YOUR MIND? Damn it. That would have been wondrous.

The Offical "The Killers" Thread
I won't agree that Hot Fuss was poor. It's still great, although it did have the tendency to really lose steam toward the end of the album. There's a lot of non-single tracks you have to listen to just to appreciate. Change Your Mind immediately comes to mind in that case, as an example. However, I will agree that Sam's Town is just massively underrated and much better than Hot Fuss. Actually, I would go so far as to call it one of the best albums of the 2000s thus far, and I just can't figure out why it got literally no love from the critics. Keeps my attention start to finish, and it's cohesive without being an outright concept album, and the songs are FANTASTIC--When You Were Young, Read My Mind, This River Is Wild, Sam's Town. Anyone care to explain the lack of Sam's Town love in some circles? I just can't figure it out.

Wow! That review is only getting me more excited for the album. One of the best albums of 2008? Really hoping that's true.

Unsigned Bands/Artists You Recommend
Here's an awesome band I found by mistake on Myspace called Brilliant Absence: http://www.myspace.com/brilliantabsence I don't think they're even together anymore, which is really sad. Check out their song "Great Things Again." Very Coldplay/Keane-ish. I think anyone on this forum would definitely enjoy it!

Seeing them live in less than 48 hours. Have floor tickets and the venue I'm seeing them at only holds 2300 people. Clearly, this is going to be awesome.
