http://romanticmovies.about.com/od/spiderman2/a/spidercc062204.htm Christopher Carrabba on Contributing to "Spider-Man 2" From the World Premiere of "Spider-Man 2" INTERVIEW WITH CHRISTOPHER CARRABBA OF DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL: You wrote a song specifically for the soundtrack of "Spider-Man 2?" I did, I did. How did you get inspired? Well, I watched the movie and it was inspiring. (Laughing) It was as simple as that. It’s such a good movie, it’s such a good story, and the conflict that the characters are all going through is kind of universal. I mean, we’re not superheroes but we all live challenging lives somehow or another. And coming of age and also falling in love and proving yourself to yourself – and proving yourself to someone you love – those are the themes that I took from the movie, as far as the song goes. I couldn’t do an action song so… Plus, it wasn’t hard for me to be inspired. Kirsten Dunst is just gorgeous. I’m inspired by her, she’s a great actress. The tension and the love story between the two were easy to believe. How do you feel about being on the soundtrack of a blockbuster movie such as this? Very humble. It’s kind of a dream come true. The fact that anybody thought about us [made this] a unique experience in my life. The soundtrack to the first “Spider-Man” was huge. Do you expect this one to be as big? I think it’s a different kind of soundtrack. I think it will probably be pretty big, because it’s got Spider-Man on the cover (laughing). But it’s definitely a different thing, so who’s to know? You can’t expect that kind of thing to happen twice. It was such a good song and such a huge thing, and it was a moment in time. Who knows if we’ll get that. But I did get Spider-Man in my video, so that much I got. It doesn’t have to sell a gazillion records. How did you get hooked up with the soundtrack in the first place? I happen to have a fan in the company that started championing me to the director and the producers, and soon they all were asking. And it was great. And the rest is history. Yeah, and it was a really great pinnacle of history in my personal history (laughing).

Queen Visits Coldplay Factory
By Peter Archer, Court Correspondent, PA News She may not know the music – but she knows the CD cover inside out. When the Queen visited a factory assembly line today, she was shown how a Coldplay album is packaged. “She was interested in how we put together the special CD cases, including Coldplay’s 2003 Live double album,” said Ramesh Patel, 62, team leader at Remploy in Acton, west London. The factory, officially opened by the Queen, provides work for 60 disabled people assembling a variety of products. The royal visitor also chatted to workers putting together breathing apparatus bound for the US military. “I was surprised how easy she was to talk to,” said Adrian Smith, 50, who has worked at Remploy for eight years. “She is very laid back – I expected her to be more stand-offish.” Remploy has 84 factories nationwide and also helps to place disabled people in mainstream employment.
