Interestingly enough, didn't Chris mention in interview that the guitar riff for IMP was what saved Coldplay? *searches in her articles* Q Magazine: Chris talked about some new songs right before Glasto 2000 In My Place Martin: "This is the new single. It's basically the tune that kept us together last year. It was a bi*ch, the hardest song we've ever had to record - it took two years to do properly. It's the tune all the new record has been assembled around really, the first new tune that we liked after 'Parachutes'. We almost dumped it because we were struggling , but Jonny Buckland's guitar riff is just gorgeous, my favorite riff of his ever, so we kept it. A.
