  1. ^Yay! Welcome aboard :nice: I'm super excited by the new surge of interest! :cheesy: As for our options Lune.. unless we have a separate paypal account that'll cover the printing and ink/supplies expenses, I don't really like the sound of you or anyone printing out shirts because that means you'll be wasting your own money. But let me get something straight.. to use eBay/Missionfish we'd have to make the shirt ourselves, right? If so.. then maybe we could focus on making our shirts (at a minimum of $20, like you said) through Cafepress. And we could also have tons of other things that Cafepress offers, like mugs/cups, teddybears, caps, scarves, calendar, cards, postcards, stickers (like airieslady suggested) and other little things that go for way less. People don't have to necessarily shell out $20+ bucks to contribute by buying. Not sure who could be in control of getting it to the charity.. I think it's safer if a few people could be in charge of that so there's less chances of something going wrong? And for others to be more assured that the money will not be handled irresponsibly. I'm so excited! Tinker what you started up sounds simply unreal..amazing. I'm so glad you made your way over here, I'm sure you'll help us enormously with all your experience. The site you're making.. what is it about exactly? Oh and Nadia my thesis on Leo Tolstoy's War and Peace novel.. kinda focusing on the profound effects of war on the various facets of society. Sounds horribly boring I know, but it's not really! :laugh4:
  2. I don't mind that their lyrics are simple. They've said that they like lyrics that one can directly relate to, not contrived and that channel love and life without being too complicated. I don't think lyrics have to be overly thoughful or clever to be considered good. While Yellow is certainly not their best lyrically, it's great it made the top 10! :nice:
  3. ^ *wow* .. Congrats to Coldplay for being in the top 5!! :D edit: ahem.. I mean congrats to Coldplay, not Yellow! :laugh4:

    That reminds me.. my friends keep saying Chris just wants to be like Thom Yorke since his kid's name is Noah as well, apparently. :dozey:
  7. I'd love to see that too! :lol:
  8. He does seem to be singing that Brand New song, and at the end he finishes it off with a bit of Gold Digger "she gives me money.. when I'm in need.." and he also sings a bit of Gold Digger during IMP. And something else I don't recognize in White Shadows.

    Oohh yay! I was going to start a thread in the Instrument Room once asking how to hear bass better but I felt.. silly! :laugh4: I can only hear Jonny's riffs, never Guy's. :cry:

    I just know I'm leaving something out.. I tried to keep it to just album songs only (except for Proof because I couldn't help it! :lol:). Best lyrics: Warning Sign; Don't Panic Best singing: Yellow; Swallowed in the Sea; Warning Sign Best guitar-line/riff: Shiver; GPASUYF; Yellow; White Shadows Best chords: Clocks Best bass: Spies (?.. I'm horrible at hearing the bass!) Best drumming: In My Place; Square One Best Piano: The Scientist; Trouble; What If Best feeling: Fix You, Amsterdam; GPASUYF; Politik; Proof; AROBTTH; Swallowed in the Sea;

    Ahhaha Angie's cat! The resemblance is uncanny! :laugh4: :laugh4:
  13. Not a promo video for Parachutes.. (it was never a single) it's just footage of the boys with Parachutes dubbed over it. :wink: :happy:
  14. If you ever find out how your other community went about selling the shirts calicat please let us know. I believe the $12 (from cafepress) isn't so bad, it's just as a base price is kinda iffy. If we wanted to make $10 for a charity, we'd have to start charging $22 for a simple shirt. I know a lot can do that and have no problem.. I'm thinking it'll be harder for younger folks to be able to talk their parents into buying a $22 dollar shirt. But maybe we can do both.. have eBay and cafepress, and instead of featuring shirts we can do mugs and buttons and use it for smaller things? Not sure. I love those frosty!! :lol: So very creative, I think I'm gonna try to cheat the system and join two siggy pics as one.. it's easier with those because they aren't animating. :sneaky:
  15. I know yellow was filmed in Studland Bay.. not sure about the the forest in The Scientist though.
  16. Poor guy managed 8 red squares with just 5 posts! Must be a record.. :laugh4:
  17. Omg Nadia those shirts!! :wacky: I just love that logo! So cool, I'd definitely take a good couple of those, you're a designing genius! :cheesy: :mad: The base prices for cafepress are quite high.. a friend recommended me another site (Spreadshirt.com) similar to cafepress, but the base prices aren't any better. I guess we can always take an_cat's idea and make an eBay account, and put the shirts and everything else up there to that account so we can buy through there? So far I think we'll have to make the eBay account. A paypal one and a Gmail. All confirmation receipts (from ebay sales/paypal donations/ etc) of everything bought or sold can be sent or forwarded to that gmail account, and it'll be easier to keep track of that way? It's also easier to see whats going on and to make sure there isn't any funny business going on. Would that work? I think paypal sends confirmation mails everytime you either put money in (our case, donations) or take money out (our case, when we give it to a charity organization) so we'll definitely be able to tell if something iffy is going about and if someone is taking money out for other purposes. Any flaws in that plan?
  18. She slated Live8.. Figures. :dozey:

    We can't even see him! :laugh4: He looks cute nonetheless :heart:
  20. It's true.. I think Radiohead surpassed anything Oasis brought to the table and doubled it with their first album alone. Oasis does not compare to them. As for the "..and I think Coldplay may yet turn out to be important but not so much now" and "Noel also believes Coldplay could yet match the achievements of him and brother Liam." .. :thinking: I don't get it. Coldplay has more relevance than Oasis right now, not to mention that they've achieved much more than Oasis in just a span of 3 albums. Makes no sense. Get off the booze, Noel!
  21. Wow.. those are just perfect. Is it you on the covers?
  22. That's awesome, but I hope you wrote Gwyn instead of 'Gwen'! :lol: :nice:
  23. Give me one 'cause one is best Being in Abbey Road at the same time as Kanye West That's what I hear during Politik. And he also covers Gold Digger during Talk and IMP :)
