What really bugs is that the guy says they just attend award shows. Just, attend award shows? The two bands that are most heavily involved in bettering the worst parts of world by supporting admirable organizations, and they just attend award shows. Wow.. for him to have the face to say something like that speaks so low of him. Meh.. it's obvious to me that line refers to someone that does amazing or grand things for him, and those actions made him "see where he was going wrong." Though.. even if one doesn't see the metaphor, one line doesn't mean the entire song doesn't make sense.
