  1. I'm going to go and make myself a den in my duvet and cry into a picture of Chris whilst thinking about doing horrible things to gigsandtours. Have a good day everyone :(
  2. Looks like it's going Up in Flames...
  3. I I think it means going with the dick of a non-Coldplay fan who bought them to extort people. Pisses me off
  4. Don't worry if you haven't got tickets, people on Seatwave are selling them at £2,500!
  5. If there's an extra ticket let me know please
  6. Hi everyone, Ever since the Ghost Stories track list was released, I was intrigued as to what "O" meant. I apologise if this has been answered by Chris in an interview or if there is another thread about it, but I have a theory as to why it seems so important. Chris has the "O" tattoo on his hand, along with the G, A and M tattoos. Could O possibly be the initial of Gwyneth's miscarried child? I could be way off the mark here, but the G M A and O are all symmetrical on his body as if the connection between them all is family, and O does seem to be an extremely prominent part of the whole album and artwork. Even the stage is set up in the shape of an O. Am I completely wrong here?
  7. If I heard this track on the radio without knowing who it was, I would love it. I would have seen it as a long like "Hey Brother" by Avicii- something that made me feel good rather than something that I enjoy lyrically or musically. Then I realised- ASFOS IS Hey Brother, and every other Avicii song. It is Avicci ft. Chris Martin, which is the biggest disappointment for me about this song. It sticks out like a sore thumb on the album, tearing apart the relaxed and chilled vibes with in-your-face synths and brash bass drum. But I can't stop singing along to it. I can't stop imagining being in the crowd when it's played, and jumping up and down. I can't get it out of my head, which means quite a lot. It's so obviously the song from Ghost Stories that was intended to sell and chart well, and I can't blame Coldplay for that. It is this album's "ETIAW", but with a bit less heart. As a live spectacle and as a feel-good song, I would rate ASFOS extremely highly, but as an album track, I think it is extremely out of place and very commercial. 6/10
  8. ciaA26 replied to Sparky's topic in Ink
When I first heard Ink, I instantly thought "Viva". I must admit, the lyrics of Ink are perhaps the weakest on the album, but the music and general feeling of the song more than makes up for that. Coldplay do what they do best on Ink- provide a catchy riff/hook. The closest comparison I could make with the riff of Ink would be Strawberry Swing, and that definitely isn't a bad thing. Whilst some would say that ASFOS is the "uplifting" song of the album, I personally would put Ink forward for that accolade, because it approaches love and heartbreak with a youthful and naive mentality, which is refreshing compared to the rest of the album. Also credit to Will, because his drumming on Ink is perhaps his best of the album. 8/10
  9. I made a thing :)
  10. A moving van is a form of transport. Another form of transport is by aeroplane. Some people like to jump out of aeroplanes for fun, and then they release their Parachutes. A dog's bone

  18. At sea. What is Will's hair made of?
  19. A huge erection Chris encountered in the Summer of 2001. What does Mylo Xyloto mean in Arabian?
  20. For me- AROBTTH X+Y GS VIVA MX Parachutes I think the best think that I possibly did was listen to the album and then not come onto the forums instantly. That way I know that my opinions haven't been influenced by anyone else, and I can safely say that I love the album. Sure it's not the stadium filling album, and it's not in your face (apart from one exception)- it's mellow. Always in my Head is the one of two songs on the album that I would call "classic Coldplay." It doesn't set a good precedent for the rest of the album in terms of lyrics, but it's beautiful musically. My favourite concert opener since Politik. Magic- Getting a bit bored of this song now, but I do love most things about it except the lyrics, and the fact that the "big part" ends too soon. Ink- I actually really like Ink- it reminds me of Strawberry Swing and definitely wouldn't be out of place on Viva- having said that I have to say that these are the worst lyrics on the whole album. True Love- Not the most incredible track by any means, but it has a certain charm to it. I love the fact that Jonny gets chance to let loose a bit on at least one song. Midnight- Grown on me so much. I couldn't stand it when it was released, but after seeing the new film and seeing the live performances, it's something special. Lacking in Jonny and Will, but it is an amazing spectacle. Another's Arms- It upsets me so much that Chris used awful lyrics for this song. Musically I think it's stunning, and Jonny's guitar playing is as good as on any other Coldplay song. I love the sound effect on it, and the general feel to it. Oceans- Chill music. Better lyrics than most songs on the album, and on obvious salute to the Parachutes era. The radar sound grinds on me after a while, but I love the simplicity of it all. It's one of the highlights of the new film. ASFOS- I could listen to this track if it was Avicii. I could listen to this track on the radio if it was anybody else. And I would like it. But by Coldplay and on an album like this, it is just completely out of place. It annoys me even more because I know that this is the product of the industry, which Chris always claims isn't a big influence on the music. I imagine that it will be incredible live, but on an album, I'm a bit peeved. O- I can honestly say that this is my favourite Coldplay song ever. I judge songs very much on the emotions they make me feel, and I was completely overwhelmed by O- even from the snippet on the Zane Lowe interview. It's the song I was waiting for and it is absolute perfection. BEST LYRICS ON THE ALBUM! Will's harmonies are haunting, the bass blends in perfectly, and the piano playing is pure. If Coldplay wanted to do a "stripped down" album, O is the direction they should have taken all the way through. I would rank this with Us Against the World, Fix You, and The Scientist. Overall, I'd give this album an 8/10. It's got the flavour of "true" Coldplay throughout, but with a new direction in terms of production. I love it.
  21. Oops, forgot that! I was almost in tears during O. It was absolutely sensational
  22. Just got home. I am in complete awe as usual. The cinematography was absolutely sensational- a whole new level to Live 2012. I absolutely loved the way Always in my Head is performed in an empty theatre. Chris flies a bit and it looks amazing. The obvious stand out songs to me were True Love, Midnight (absolutely insane live) and by far my favourite- O. Will plays electric guitar, Jonny makes some incredible atmospheric sounds, but it's Chris' singing that makes it special. The best singing he has ever done without question. Also, the performance of Oceans is so special, but I won't ruin it. I spent a lot of money getting there today but I can honestly say it was worth every penny. You won't be disappointed For UK fans, they made the announcement that Sky Arts will be showing Live 2003, How we saw the world concert, Live 2012 and then the new film next Monday.
  23. See you all there! Should we all meet for a drink before hand?
