  1. It was merged with the Neutralplaying and it kept the "ultimate Coldplaying" name The newplaying has its own separated thread. And you should follow both :p
  2. Great! I agree that Another's Arms is an underrated song. It's one of my favorites off Ghost Stories. I also like the backing vocals, they are so beautiful and add something especial to the atmosphere of the song. I also like that part on ASFOS. The song it's so moving, but that specific change makes it more joyful.
  3. Anyway, I'm voting for Coldplay.
  4. Done! So far you're doing an amazing job. I just want to say thank you for giving a little bit of your time to keep this space active. 2016 is going to be amazing!!!

I've heard the Spanish version :) it's really powerful. One of the greatest songs of all time.
  6. Adventure Of A Lifetime has 42 million views
  7. That's ok. After all this is the ultimate coldplaying thread. We prefer the positive point of view and great discussions. As long as you don't say our taste in music is rubbish that's ok :p I don't know anything about production but I think the clapping is intended to sound cleaner (I hope that make sense) for example in the Live Lounge we can hear (and see) during AOAL the live clapping which sounds good but in the album we don't expect to hear background sounds like noises. While, Strawberry Swing keep the clapping natural at the beginning but later it sounds less normal. Or the background noise in Easy To Please gives a good atmosphere to the song but I don't want the band to repeat that in another song it'll be less creative.
  8. I can hear what you describe here on Birds and Ghost Stories. Ghost Stories is one of the albums where I can hear the whole band is supporting each other. In songs like Oceans or UATW we don't have to hear all the band is playing in the whole song, they take part when the song needs their contribution. That's what I like in the new songs.
  9. ^^ I also like the intro for Yellow in the Live 2003 it's so perfect! Easy to Please is also one of my favorite songs. Chris plays with his voice and goes from low to high so easily. Prospekt's March is the saddest song but at the same time the most beautiful. The whole band takes part in a specific moment which makes it sound great. And that version of Life in Technicolor is one of the best I've heard. Plus the quality is so good I could hear the instruments. Funnily, I like the cymbals in this specific video. They add a great sound like the bell in VLV.
  10. lol that's why he's in a safe place :)
  11. I was thinking about this the other day. Why do I like some songs? And I thought I like the guitar riff in some songs (Spies), the bass in Magic or Things I Don't Understand, the drums in ETIAW, Chris voice in Amazing Day or UATW, or the way the band sound in Viva La Vida. What about you? What do you like from a specific song?
  12. I'm not sure what a newplayer is but maybe yes. And I agree that XMTS is a great song. I don't think is their best songs but I do think it shouldn't be a hidden track.

  14. It's my time to go to bed but I'm not sleepy
  15. That's for younger listeners who are discovering the band. However I think new generations prefer to listen to singles rather than whole albums (unless they're young artists like Justin beiber who has crazy young fans). For example a Mexican singer is planning to release a single each month because people is getting used to listen to the most popular songs on Spotify rather than buying the album with the risk of not liking the rest of the songs.
  16. I feel the same, and it's the only band I've listened to all their discography. I've heard other singers/bands and I like some of their songs but most of the times they lack the passion and soul Coldplay put on their music.
  17. It's not just Ghost Stories. They are known for being "boring" for their first albums. We know their first albums are great, but the media and some artists (Bono) said their music was sleepy. That's when Politik and GPASUYF were done. But, haters didn't change their mind even when Viva La Vida was released. They're highly criticized and they are either loved or hated there isn't in between. So, they could release the greatest stadium anthem but among haters they'll keep the "music for bedwetters" stereotype.

Nice quotes, thank you so much. I always try to be positive and I don't try to pay attention to the negative side, I just try to learn from the mistakes I'm making :)
  19. I don't like those terms we are Coldplayers because we like Coldplay, it doesn't matter if it is their older or newer work. And I have to disagree with you. Coldplay is still relevant. If it wasn't for Mylo Xyloto I wouldn't be here, I wouldn't listen to the Brothers & Sisters EP and all their amazing songs. People is still going crazy because they didn't buy a ticket, which led the band and the venues to add more dates (Wembley 4 dates, Mexico 3 dates)

Thank you!! Both are great quotes. I'll apply the first one for someone who is annoying me, not saying that this person is a bastard lol, but isn't someone I want to great but I have to
  21. I think some of you have heard about the e-zines. I'm not sure where I read about them but I found this in a interview Chris admits he thinks "a lot of the best love songs have been written already" but they are "interested in making music with soul, passion, energy, vibe and emotion". Just as well because that's exactly what Coldplay do - with honours. Here we have a band oozing with talent and intellect, but they don't make the mistake of being contrived with any pretence. There is also more than a hint of optimism, especially in the lyrics of Don't Panic, 'We live in a Beautiful World', do we? "Yes". Oh right then. Chris is of the opinion that "every cloud has a silver lining and there's good in everything". Ahhh. I think they still embrace this idea. The difference is they don't want to keep doing the same tricks over and over again. It's like people who work in an office; they don't want to be in the same area or company forever. People wants new challenges, meet new people, have a different routine. I believe the band wants to try something different to rock music by embracing what they love but keeping the soul and passion they have always put on their music. Ps. If you want to read the whole interview you can download the e-zine in a Brazilian fan-site http://vivacoldplay.com/2011/01/telescope-lens-1/
