I wouldn't take this video shoot as evidence of much of anything in particular, except maybe the direction of a single from the new album. Imagine if you took images from the video being produced for A Sky Full of Stars and applied it to Ghost Stories you would've assumed Ghost Stories was a very different album than it actually was - for comparison sake. I mean it may be, but it certainly doesn't have to be an overall depiction of the direction of the new album.

Obviously it'll be a song entitled "Wet Dream"...and then, based upon the lyrics, speculation will run wild as to which of Chris' women he's referring to in the song. This will lead to the end of numerous relationships, the conception of countless children, a tsunami of TMZ rumors and eventually break the internet.

It would be cool if the iHeartRadio set included songs entirely from the new album with an announcement from the band that the album will be available within a week of the concert. That would be a great way to hit the ground running with LP7 as well as work with the "surprise" idea.

I doubt Miracles will be the overall direction of the new album. Miracles was soundtrack driven. This album has been in the works long before Miracles was ever conceived.

A more up tempo sounding album you'd expect to get a summer release. At least in my opinion. I would anticipate an announcement fairly soon with a release date no later than the end of August.

I'm wondering in this day and age why Coldplay doesn't produce a bluray disc option with a TrueHD or DTS-MA surround sound option of their original albums (not the live albums - of course they have those in surround). I think this would be a nice option if done in good taste and not gimmicky sounding. Pink Floyd's new instrumental release Endless River is a good example as it sounds absolutely incredible on a good home theater system. I could imagine Ghost Stories would have been equally impressive. Of course the 2 channel option would always be available for those uninterested. I may pose this question to Oracle unless someone here can point to an interview or other tidbit that addresses my question. Thanks.
