Well, he is a guitar god in my opinion, have anyone here tried to play that new born solo he plays live? his fingers can stretch from the 3th fret to the 8th fret and he keeps doing it for like 6 times in less that 3 secs, its insane :o

Yes he's insane!!! i saw them in concert two years ago....at one point he took one of the guitar amps put it on its side and stood on top of it and continued to play that song!!! He owns for real lol!!

Yes this is very tough, and I actually can't do it, but the fact is that, IMO, even if it's freaking hard and fast, the solo sounds ugly, so what good is there in managing to do this ?

 

And Eric Clapton plays waaaaaaaaaay faster than Matt, for example.

I'll never say, in no way, that Matt is no good guitarist, because he is one, but no more than very good. Damn, he makes tappings that even Daft Punk can do !

 

IMO, guitar Gods are more like Jimi, Steevie Ray Vaughan, Clapton, Dave Gilmour, Jimmy Page, or more recently Tom Morello and even Jonny Greenwood, but not Matt. Sorry.
