Open Water

this movie was...I don't know how to put it. For those of you who haven't heard of it, its about this couple who goes on vacation and goes scuba diving...well the scuba people don't count correctly and leave them stranded in the middle of the ocean. I would be absolutely petrified. Then they have numerous encounters with sharks and what not, and jelly fish...etc. Its actually pretty scary. It got a little long, but a lot of movies do that. The ending was shocking...I was not expecting it. I'd say its a pretty good movie. The general idea is good...the acting, not so good, but whatever. I'd see it...esp. for the ending, your in for a surprise.

:stunned: i think i should watch that one :stunned:

okay...no...the village sucked. and open water was actually not bad. sharks are really scary...the whole concept of the movie is scary. the village was awful.

rEALLY? i HAVENT SEEN TEH MOVIE YET... THANKS KNOW I DONT HAVE TO WASTE 10 BUCKS ONA SUCK ASS MOVIE!!

Actually... I just saw Open Water, and I have to say that I thought it was one of the most boring movies I've ever seen. The ending not only didn't surprise me, it also rendered the entire rest of the movie pointless. But at least the ending had me interested, because the rest of it was just excruciatingly boring. It almost works as sort of a psychological thriller (trying to explore how people would react if all of a sudden everything in their lives became meaningless, and floating aimlessly in an open sea is the extent of their entire existance), but fails at that too because of the actors' lack of talent and shoddy looking digital camera work (I understand they were on a low budget, but that doesn't make it any more convincing). Good concept, horrible execution.

Anyway, I haven't seen the Village yet, but I can't imagine liking that any less than I liked Open Water. :P

Really? adn i almost was goin call off the plans i had to go see The village  I really dont think Sharks are scary its how the movie makes them scary....special effects or just you were born scared of them  , you know

well the whole idea is good...it did get long, I said that. I wasn't totally bored. And yea, the acting sucked. I dunno, I just didn't get bored. I think its a really interesting thing, what would you do if that happened to you? I was only surprised by the ending b/c movies rarely end bad...you know? I think anyone would have done the same in that situation. That should have been a movie/documentary for a science museum ominitheatre...it would have been better, and they wouldn't have had to stretch it out so much to make it longer. :/

It was weird camera work...but the stories ending was a shocker and a bit depressing. Anyways, I can't believe this was based on a true story. I am glad when I went snorkling I made sure to keep looking to see that the boat was still there. :stunned:

Hmmm, is it one of those low budget doco films? Haven't heard of it yet...I have dreamt of this situation before but making a movie out of it? :/
