I was waiting for that one ever since the 7th book came out and many of Emerson's predictions were proved wrong. Yay! :glasses:

1. maybe.

2. both

3. yes

4. indifferent

5. yes

6. yes, a bit

7. should keep writing, not necessarily harry potter

1. No. It was a good message that sacrifice and complete selflessness can be rewarded.

2. Both

3. Absolutely

4. Didn't really see much point to it, his sexuality had nothing to do with any of the story.

5. I believe so

6. 100% yes

7. No more Harry Potter novels but definitely more writing

As great as the ending was, a part of me wishes she was ballsy enough to actually have let him die. I mean, the kings cross chapter might be my favorite in the whole book, the whole ending was just amazingly done, but part of me was disconcerted by the fact that I knew she wouldn't just let him die. That the thought of all those kids crying would mean Harry will always live (not to say she ever wanted to kill him for good).

As intense as his walk to voldemort was, I already knew that he wouldn't actually die...which, in turn, made me think how remarkable it would be if he actually did die, and the remaining chapter (or prologue) described Neville killing Nagini.

It actually reminds me a whole lot of the movie "stranger than fiction" (which I saw you reviewed once, Nick)

While I agree with most of that, I think it's better how it was personally. she made the right choice. it would have been really awkward to suddenly switch the point of view to a neutral one just for that last chapter, as it had always been focusing on either harry, Voldemort, or Snape. To suddenly focus on Neville, or no one in particular, would have been very strange to read.

I read that in 6th grade...hardly fine literature

Well, exactly. She literally couldn't kill Harry, even if it would have made the book better (I'm not saying it would have- I was quite pleased with the ending). But just imagine all those fans all over the world, faced with the death of Harry Potter. For some reason I don't think it would go down too well.

Speaking of the end of the book, what did you guys think of the epilogue? I've heard very very mixed feelings about it. :P

i just finished chamber of secrets again!

ahhah, thought id let you guys know:lol:

that is so cool looking. i hope we get to see a lot of it in the movie(:

Too childish maybe, I mean too "white".

I think both should have died in battle you know, an EXCITING battle.

ermm, i thought the epilogue was ok. just a little cliche. i think she just could of summed it all up with out being like, "severus dumbledore" and "sirus james" or whatever, hahha:lol:

what was that up there??

by too white I meant like too "happily ever after" you know, it's not cinderella or something, maybe something more serious.

She was planning to kill Harry at first. She didn't want anybody to write the sequel to Harry Potter book 7 if she had let Harry alive. She just wanted Harry to die and so the story ends. That's it.

BUT due to so many readers and fans around the world who weren't agree with this plot, she then changed her mind and instead kept Harry alive. Which to me personally was very disappointing. I was like 'aaaaarrrggghh..' when I read the epilogue. :P

I also want the series to end. I don't want in 3-5 years from now there will be a book about Harry and friends all grown-ups and become parents. I wouldn't want to read that. :\
