I've only seen that episode where they attack the Japanese fishing boat and that guy claims one of the Japs shot him, but I'm pretty sure it was BS. He just did that for maximum effect.

 

Even if you're not a hippy, you must admit being out on that boat and acting like a pirate is probably great fun. More fun than having a "real" job. Plus I know Laurens de Groot probably gets all the chicks, cause all the other men are nerdy/ugly.

My favorite was when the retard captain almost crashed into the Jap boat.

He sings in the band Beirut. :D They are AMAZING. You must check them out!

 

And composes all the music. And plays trumpet/flugel horn/ukulele and lots of other instruments. :D Beirut really is amazing. Definitely give him/them a listen.
