I'm absolutely loving this song - If it doesnt make the album it'll be a damn shame- its got Radio Airplay written all over it. It's very 80's U2/ Aha. I love it !

yes i'm listening to it right now, while it's GREAT to finally get to hear some new stuff and all it defnitely has a B-side feel to it, but it so makes me even more anxious for the new album stuff because if this is only going to be B-side then that means the album stuff is going to be freakin awesome, and i am fully looking forward to having all my expectations surpassed as they always seem to do.

i adore this song!! Its so GOOD to finally hear some new material from them!! GOOD GOD!!! AH!! I LOVE IT! THIS SONG is washed with 80-ish guitar riffs and chris' charismatic entrancing voice!! if it doesnt make it onto the album, hopefully itl be a b-side...either way, its BEAUTIFUL SONG!! :D :D :D :D

wow - based on people's posts here, it doesn't sound like Talk is that far removed from the Coldplay of old. As the album gets closer, the feedback from those who have heard the new songs as well as the band themselves seems to indicate that they will not be moving in a radically different direction, but rather progressing in a much more organic way.....and that is definitely a good thing. perhaps we'll see some itunes exclusive before June. If anybody would like to pass on Talk to me, it would make this Torontonian a little bit warmer ;)

To all the ppl looking for the song... there's a little thing called Google... I found the song in less than 2 minutes. The download took a bit longer... :lol:

 

After listening to the song, I can see why the song was dropped from the album. It "borrows" the Computer Love's riffs to great effect, but the lyrics just don't seem to gel with the instrumentation.

I couldnt agree with you more.. HOWEVER the overall sound is a stretch for them.. and for that alone I am intrigued for the album.. (well I would have been regardless) but i anticipate it even more because its so different. I love the riff.. its the best part of the song in my opinion.. but I did enjoy it. AND in case any of you havent heard.. that copy that is floating around is an 'unmixed' version.. so who knows if and when we hear it again (officially) it may sound even better..

I think compared to coldplays other music, talk is different...its a great song, theres no doubt...i cant get over the fact that in the second verse after the first chorus there is this guitar part that reminds me oh so much of clocks...it seems like chris is about to break into clocks

Apologies if I'm stepping on anybody's toes here, but...

 

I really like it. I heard it once and it got stuck in my head for the next week. It's a ridiculously catchy song. Quite what that means for the upcoming album I don't know, but I had the good fortune to hear some new songs the other day, and I think it's going to be Coldplay, cranked up about 5 notches, if that makes any sense!

 

At any rate, I think it's going to be great. Really looking forward to seeing/hearing them played live in June...
