A little pondering about gay marriage

Featured Replies

because of the marriage thread.

So, the US (and Canada) have conservative people who say that gays shouldn't be allowed to marry because marriage is sacred. But how do they explain that more than half of marriages in the US end in divorce? Isn't that kind of hypocritical?

It's a relgious thing, marriage is viewed by many as only between a male and wife.

totally... they're trying to bring 'religion' into this.. and thats not all cool. Marriage is between 2 people whom love each other.. period.. the bible states that its between a man and a woman.... religion shouldnt play into the law.. thats my opinion..

It's kind of a touchy subject. Personally I'm all for gay marriages, but I can see where people are coming from when they say they're against it. And I agree with Camille: religion and law are two totally different things...

well, in the US we have a something called 'seperation of church and state'... these so called 'new laws and amended constitutions' totally violate that..

damn President Bush!! *shakes fist*

maybe i'm wrong about this, but wasn't there a time where 2 people of different "race" weren't allowed to marry, for reasons of religion, sacredness, etc...?

damn President Bush!! *shakes fist*

That right there is the quote of the decade.

seeing as this country was founded on religion.. do you prose we take out every single reference to a higher being out of every historical document?

I'm for gay marriage. I'm sorry but I've come to the conclusion that Bush is homophobic lol. He basically said "It's alright for a man and a woman to get married but...sorry you gay people. It's sinful and unlawful."

whatever. He obviously never had any homosexual friends and he needs his head checked

Aye. I say let those sailers put even more rings on their fingers.

lol, woo people agree with me :D

yeah, i'm totally for gay marriage.

if people want to get married, there shouldn't be anything stopping them. least of all some stupid law.

Whether I am for it or not, I still think that people should be able to do what they want. Just as long as it doesn't affect society as a whole in a negative way.

if everyone was gay (shudder), it would probably effect society. but that's just a crazy assumption of mine. so in theory, straight people are actually doing you people a favor.
