Damn!!!! This song is too good to be true!!! The first time I heard it I was like WTF?!..... but now it's like WOW!!!!! AHGRRRRR!!! I'm dying to have X&Y on my hands!! anyone notice the topic of this song is quite like 'in my place', just think its about the same topic, fighting on and waiting for a break

to me this is the song with the best lyrics so far for all of coldplay. I mean the lyrics all just make sense and flow together, and I think it is about the progression of the earth, and its interactions with man.....and i think instead of all those "peices" its all those "places" that i have found. I discovered this watching the mtv acoustic ad

'birds come flying up from the underground' is some grade A imagery

im happy its not about apple, she is a human being and needs to be left out of the spotlight for now......come on shes young, but i do think there will be a few songs inspired by him in a fathers role....but not apple directly.

I think thats all the gaps filled in- well when ive been singing along to it and annoying my family thats what they've been hearing :)

 

At first I didnt like it much and i was really unimpressed with it as a first single choice but it has totally grown on me and now its one of my faves now

no...no...no...thats not my point...not the whole album has to be Apple born...I meant the fact he´s experimented a new role in life...he´s a grow up man...

 

I wanted the lyrics to be more deep...more abstract...more creative!

I read somewhere on here that Til Kingdom Come is the song about/for Apple as it were. But I dont think Chris will ever write a lot about all that stuff coz he is pretty private about it and wont talk about that stuff in interviews etc, so he's not gonna put it out there in his songs and make it all really overt so everybody can find out about his private family life! He seems like he is one of those people that frets about everything- if you listen to coldplay songs he's written lots about being scared of stuff- like dying or losing important people to him- hence a lot of the songs being about and time and space, thats why the themes are consistent in his songs, because thats what he thinks about a lot! I dont like it when everyone says their songs are the same or are boring because coldplay songs have universal themes about some of the most important things in life, that everyone can interpret and relate to, which is what makes them so great. and anyway from the songs ive heard for X+Y he IS wondering about creation and how we all got here and maybe thats a more subtle way in which Apple has affected his outlook if u wanna look into that sort of thing. I think Square One is a great song and i think that its pretty different for coldplay- a definate progression and its certainly more abstract in the way it goes off in all different musical directions, its a really big song with a big concept behind it- you cant ask for more than that!!!

i was just going to say Square One is really abstract, and White Shadows has DIFFERENT lyrics......also I think Speed Of Sound is the best song they have written lyrically.......

Yeah I noticed the same thing while watching this ad!! By the way this acoustic version is really wonderful!!!!!! Perfect beat!!
