Ambergris
That rock-pop denomination is sooo overrated and old, it shouldn't be used anymore, btw could somebody define those terms? they just seem so ambiguous for me in these times... I like the bands I like for their music, never mind if is rock, pop or whatever. There's no need in trying to classify them by those "not very exact" denominations. musiclover0590
you shouldn't try to put it into catorgories! Coldplay is just Coldplay!!!

green eyes88
Yeah, I consider Coldplay and altervative band, so they're neither pop nor rock. I'd hate to think of coldplay as a pop band!!! :stunned:

gentleparachute
Indie................? Indie? Wouldn't that be a sub-category of rock i.e. alt-rock? :D
naty
i voted for both
green eyes88
yeah pop is like britney or the backstreet boys... hehe... coldlpay a pop band?!?! If it's not alternative then it's light rock or something like that, but there still isn't enough guitar. So I chose neither.
hidegjatek
i think is not a pop album because pop is the destiny child and that kind of stuff.i read that coldplay is set up a new genre which is the glum rock. i think x&> is a rock album not as hard as u2 and not as light as travis.but i think this is defintly not pop
*Justine*
Indie................? NO.
gentleparachute
Since Coldplay are not rock enough to be considered rock by some, what would you call Greenday/Blink 182's music? Rock or pop trash?
