no shit... :dozey: but no one has answered my question... why I ask.. why!!??

well I wasnt asking you.. :P I was addressing Jen and Ian.. or anyone else who knew.. :P

This is the best I've been able to come up with thus far!

What are the origins of the words "piccalilly" and "piccadilly"?

Vanessa Snell, Ipswich, England

Piccalilli is a derivation of the word pickle which has mustard in it to impart a yellow hue.

Piccadilly comes from the word meaning a high collar constructed of pieces of cloth fastened together to finish off the top of a doublet.

Jack Hill, St Albans, England

The name Piccadilly originates from a 17th century dressmaker who lived in the area and created a frilled collar called a "piccadil".

Who knows why? Ian was referring to Piccadilly Gardens, which is where the bus terminus is in the middle of Manchester, also has lots of nice bars around, is the home of the Hotel Piccadilly and used to be the home of Piccadilly radio. not to be confused with Piccadilly Station which is about 10 mins walk away

I think we're too stupid to answer it

I have that effect on people :smug:
