Hey people....

 

I have a question for you all... Lately i've fallen love with White Shadows, but what do you think it's about? What does it mean to you???

 

The song it self means a lot to me, and i'm curious if anyone else in here sees the same....

Yes, I like this song, the beat is good.

To me it is like the "something is missing" part is like someone else, or relationship wise...and when you find it, it'll be in a "permanent state" because it's what you want, and everyone goes through it, and it's like as if you're a kid and you get what you want..also it's like how things fit together and are supposed to be a certain, insync way.

That's just me though.

I think it deals with death. Just my perspective. :)

I find White Shadows to be the most bizarre, and probably daring Coldplay song I've ever heard. It's my 4th favorite overall (I think... I listed them somewhere around here)

 

Anywho, it obviously has to do with losing something then wanting it back. "don't you wanna feel like that?"

The noise waking up, sound breaking up etc. could be being jolted out of a dream, images fading away.

 

It's all memories long gone, methinks.

 

I have no idea what the actual "white shadows" sparkling and glistening are.

Yeah, B(ruce)WP(altrow). He was the producer of a show called "The White Shadow"

 

I think Fix You is about him though, not White Shadows.

the organ featured on both white shadows and fix you belonged to Bruce Paltrow.

the keyboard used on the album is an old keyboard that Mr Paltrow had and Gwynnie gave it to Chris to use..

That base-line is just so Guy... Both camp/geeky and incredibly attractive/catchy at the same time :D

White Shadows means a lot to me,oh yeah I miss the little white shadows..blink and miss them :D :lol:

Yay a thread about my favourite song off X&Y. I just love the regae bassline. I thought the song was about Chris's childhood as he sings 'When I was a young boy I tried to listen.' But I'm not sure.

To me it's like growing up, things changing, and losing inocence...well, that's what it represents to me, but i think is really personal :rolleyes:

That's why Coldplay lyrics are so good, i think, they mean different things to people, and depends on the mood you are when you listen to it, or even the period of your life you're going through...

I think it's about finding peace of mind, that's why i love it so... The permanent state i think would be 'enlightenment', finding a permanent state of happiness and love, whatever that means... That's what it means to me, like many Coldplay songs it gets deep in under my skin! God i love their music!

Indeeeeeeed!!Oh my god I can't believe you feel the way I do :stunned: Both Square One and White Shadows have amazing endings, really! I always listen to them for the sake of the ending :embarrased:

Likewise, Amsterdam, Fix You, even the Hardest Part to an extend.

 

That's why you always have to listen to them twice to get the full effect. ^_~
