Opinions on Fix You Video?

Featured Replies

I like the sing along... I would've minded if they featured that on the album, but otherwise I don't mind it one bit. It's supposed to be a live performance at the end, and the sing along fits very well. I also love how much the crowd is jumping up and down, looks amazing!

Bah, too much Chris Martin + walking...how many videos has he strolled in? :dozey:

I think anyone who thinks the fans were stupid to sing along to the song are out of their flaming minds. :o

Yeah but my point is, if you're at a concert, you're going to sing and when Coldplay have asked you too because they're filming a video for their new single you just wouldn't not would you?!

it is quite good especially because i also had been a part of a coldplay concert.but if i would be a chritcs then i have to say that is not the best what i ever seen.i mean nothing happening in the first part(just chris walking what is not intresting for not coldplay fans)but the second part is quite good :smug:

i like it by the way

i like it, chris looks gorge, the end is cool, the song speaks for itself they dont need a glam video :dozey:

Have we all seen the same video? What a huge disapointment. 1 month in waiting of showing footage from one of the best gigs of the year at Bolton. The beginning looks like it has been filmed in some London suburb (Kings Cross), so how the hell does Chris manage to run onto a stage in Bolton? It's also a direct rip off of U2's 'sometimes you can't make it on your own' - singer walks the streets then walks into gig and sings with band - how original! The edited footage of the gig is painfull to the eye, short half second clips doesn't allow you to focus on anything at all - totally uncomfortable and un-entertaining to watch - even the fireworks are milliseconds long. The show was so powerful but looks so 'edited' and bland on this video. Would have preferred to see the footage of Glastonbury used for this promo video. From a true Coldplay fan, I give this video 1/10, and is for the effort. Sorry guys, but just because it's Coldplay won't make me say it's good.

Muller (director) shot the video at King's Cross three days before the bombings on the 7/7/05. If my calculation is correct, Coldplay were playing at Bolton that night. My suggestion - in hindsight, would have been to have Chris doing one of his walking shots through Horwich Asda next door, and then trotting into the stadium like the rest of us did. Personally, I would NOT have used live footage for part of the video for this type of song if I had directed. The video does grow on you but London / Bolton - just can't shake it off....

The video is amazing...the only word at the moment that comes to mind is Beautiful   It makes you want to cry....

I love the video, It may have been said before but with the Red Bus that goes past and Kings Cross etc it obviously reminds me of all the terrible things that have happened but the song fits in perfectly! As in FIX YOU as a metaphor. Maybe Too Deep but thats just my thoughts!

Yeah, I agree with you slowlycatchymonkey! Fix You definitely fits in with everything that happened. The video is awesome! I love it too at the end where the crowd is singing along and everone's singing together. It made me cry the first time I saw it too. :bigcry: It rocks!! :D

Wow!!! The video was awesome...I love'd the part where he started running! So good! And yes...i cried as well :P
