But some teachers here are unfair and boring and strict....

Where are you planning to teach? I have relatives in Phoenix and my cousin who is on 5th grade told me that the students are relatively more polite and easily controlled unlike in Singapore where he used to live or even in the Philippines. And they have good education system there :D

Well, I am planning on teaching in Florida Gail. Though, nationwide, education is sorely underfunded and teachers are greatly underpaid. I believe that Arizona has a much better education system than here in Florida ;)

Good luck with that Aaron! I really think teaching is a noble profession. It's quite underpaid but I think it will be rewarding because you can help lots of kids. I wish I have the talent to teach just like you :)

Thanks for the kind words Gail. But you really don't need talent to be a good teacher. You just need to have the passion and compassion to be a teacher. The worst teachers I ever had were uncaring and sterile. I am sure you would make a wonderful teacher as well. ;)

I am shy as well in front of people, but I think that I will be able to fight through the shyness and teach. I think being a little vulnerable may be good as a teacher. It lets students know that you aren't there to terrorize them with lost of hard work and it lets them know that you won't be a mean teacher :)

^ I agree. I think students respect teachers who respect them too. The terror-teachers are only feared and obeyed but not respected.

 

I'm shy as well and usually gets nervous speaking in front of a crowd. But it would be different as well when you're speaking in front of the class. ;)

Exactly, it is differemt when speaking in fornt of a class. I am nervous about teaching but am still very excited. Thanks for talking with me about it Gail :)
