Me too haha

Ahhh lets not nitpick people, I realise that racism is a contreversial and sensitive subject but it's not appreciated when I make good points and it gets pointed out something that I easily could have worded differently.

Notice I said racism was "Basically abolished", I was really thinking more in terms of human rights. Officially, and in theory, it has been abolished, on a technicality. In the work world and in practice we know its not true, but basically human rights (or rather, lack of) that encourage racism and segregation, have been abolished.

segragation has been 'somewhat' abolished.. not racsim my friend. Sad but true..

another little problem I found in your post...

you can't predict when how a hurricane will hit until about 48hrs before it does. Take FL for example.... the storm was to have taken a north northwest path towards Ft. Lauderdale and Orlando... where did it go at the last minute... straight towards southern FL and right into Miami and Homestead..... again... just like Andrew.. you can never fully anticipate the storms arrival.. which is why they have hurricane warnings and watches.. the entire Gulf Coast was on 'alert' and the storm made landfall well below NO... what basically doomed the city was the levees breaching.. period. Yes... they (local and fed govt) KNEW this would happen.... they asked for aide.. neither administration (NOR BUSH NOR CLINTON) statisfied thier request. Bottom line.... there was no plan.. and having all this red tape isnt helping the matter. The worst thing the US govt did was have the Dept of Homeland Security in charge of FEMA..... FEMA was much better run when it was its own entity.

Did you read my post? Thats exactly what I said. ..In practice neither racism or segregation has been abolished.

Well the time and date was an estimation from a fortnight before, and it was about 3 hours wrong, I know its easy to sit back now and say "Well I would've acted instantly look whats happened!" but in truth, I will admit that several other disasters were predicted and were never as strong as anticipated.

Within 36 hours of the hurricane they had predicted it accurately, nothing was done. Uh, it kinda sounds like your agreeing with me.

I do aree with you to a certain extent... but ultimately it was the federal govt who should claim responsibility here. I can't help but noticed how a city of thousands who's majority of the population is lower income black families.. gets tossed aside in a time of need... MS didn't have any problem getting FEMA there on MONDAY night... they have just as much destruction.. I can't help but speculate that in part... the response had to be racial.

ok before i start, im not racist..i have many black friends...but saying this....

my school the black kids and some white kids, and other races all goof around and dnot pay attention..i see it everyday in class they get bad grades and many fail out becaue their too busy being gangsta and cussing at teachers to learn. they are offered education but many dont take it...i have a poor black friend...trys hard as hell in school makes c's and b's...he's a great guy...he's going places...he's going to move out of the "ghetto" and maybe not be upper class but a hell alot better then his fellow black students....

my other black friend cedric who is quite poor, makes d's and a few c's, he gets in trouble the whole time and doesnt care...he's going to be stuck in the "ghetto" blaming the evil republicans for his problems....

in america for the most part they have chances to better their lives..but many live in ignoracne and blame the evil white republicans for problems, THEY CAN SOLVE...through hard work and paying attention at school...

i see this everyday. people join gangs and violence and crime...they do alot of this too themselves..thats why im a big fan of bill crobsy for sayign what he says...hes a good person for the black community to look up too. as long as these communities blame thier problems on the evil whites they wont go away, they as a whole can work together to better their lives and communities...will it happen? it hasnt yet.

Nick, I dare you to say this to the black people I know and see if you don't get your fucking head knocked off.

You have a lot to learn my boy, a lot to learn. I'm usually nice to you Nick but this has pissed me off. It's almost pointless to try and talk sense into you. It is truly quite a sight to behold. Your ignorance is always evident in every one of your political posts. WHy don;t you go to college for a few semesters and get a taste of the real world and then tell me that racism doesn't exist or some other bullshit. I'm sorry Nick but your post above is fucking disgusting.

Good day sir

Reilly, are you fucking serious with your novella of New Orleans post. That is one of the longest posts I have ever read. Too damn long. You are right for the most part, I must give you credit there.

By the way, i didn't know you were american :sneaky:

Oh yeah, and Kanye was fucking right the fuck on!!!!!!

you were the only one missing! i was wondering where u were in time of debates :P

Hahaha! I guess I was giving the Royal 'we' sometimes

I was referring to how "we", the world in general, could have responded. It effects everyone really.

I see now. Thanks for clearing that up. I can't believe how long it is and it's coherently written. I can't think that hard when I am online. It hurts too much

Im glad you think it's coherent because I was really thinking it wasnt! Thanks Aaron.

Re: d

racism is not nearly as strong as many would like to believe, i cant stand people who blame there problems on other things...take credit...we did a hell of alot of horrible things to the african americans....its a shame..but as of now alot of the problems are their own...they have a chance to fix their community's and lives...but choose not to and blame it on evil white people......

take credit for your problems....

how do they chose not to????? omg, you think they have the oportunity to live the american dream but they just chose not to???? common nick

overt racism existed for more than 200 years in america---u think in 30 years we have gotten rid of it???? NO---its just not as obvious

i live in Los Angeles which is a dominant hispanic and african american community-----I KNOW what we all go through----i see it in my family, i see it in my neighbors, i see it in my community and let me tell you something, nobody here chose to live in poverty and to live as poor as we do-----nobody prefers this style of living

ok before i start, im not racist..i have many black friends...but saying this....

you are right about this----it is true that most teenagers dont give a fuck about their education and stuff and majority people of color-------

but we get crappy teachers too, we get crappy schools that need reparations, if education was equal, then they would have never put that law (i forgot the name of it) that says that universities have to get a certain percent of color people admitance

i just dont feel like writing too much---but common nick---how can you be so blindly to not notice racism in our country-----its only been about 30 years when black people could not drink from the same fountain as white---u think it was all gone in 30 years?

atleast where i come from, i disagree..because ive made very bad choices im in classes with alot of african americans and other races...and most the teachers arent that bad...but they cant/wont teach due to the fact students wont behave and stup up so they can teach. thats a big issue kids dont pay attention and they creat so much problems we spend most the time listening to teachers yell at teh students then learn...in my school system atleast anyone can get a good teacher as long as you can do good enough and get into honors or AP classes. ive been in an honors and AP classes and the teachers are great and we learn alot...but thats only because those are kids in the class who care adn try to learn. so a black kid if he trys hard enough most of the time can get into these classes and learn alot...but the key is trying..and thats the problem with many lower class people, they dont try hard enough and blame their problems on others...

now for inner city schools where teh whole school is crappy well thats mainly the students fault...if they would be respectful and pay attention and not cause trouble. im saying all races in those schools, they could get a good school and learn more, but most dont care so the goverment and teachers dont either...why should we spend money on kids who dont care and wont try? when we can spend money on ones who do?

the goverment should help out and get students in those schools who try some money to go to a better school...every poor person who trys hard and works hard and cant make it even after that should get helped out.

racism is not gone, but its not nearly as bad as many would like to believe...
