I think a lot of the time, most of us, I include myself in that, tend to say 'we don't like this, etc, etc' and many times it's because we don't give it a chance and tend to judge a band on X amount of songs that we've heard and didn't like and thus pass judgement, when in reality there are a lot of songs that are worth a listen...

 

much like a casual fan that hears The Scientist on the radio and immediately assumes Coldplay is very slow and soft rock type music

I'm obsessed because I ask every new person I meet, if they like Coldplay. And I am determined to find all the Coldplay fans at my school. I saw a few with Coldplay shirts on, and that just made my day. :)

Haha the only thing is... they're all in high school and they prolly don't know wtf I am :P That'd be sad if I went up to them and I'm like "HEY! You like Coldplay, right? Did you go to their concert? Cause I did!" :laugh3:

I did that in New Zealand at a store with Speed of Sound too.

I know I'm obsessed when the whole way to summer camp ( 10 hours drive ) I do nothing but listen to coldplay. Even when I stopped for food and bathroom breaks, that CD player came with me. The worst is when I raided everyones carry on bags looking for batteries. Hey I was desperate. This Summer I'll be sure to bring a whole box of batteries..especially with the drive being 18 hours. :)

^haha that sounds like something I would do... I went to Seattle last June for my brother's graduation and it was just a few days after X&Y came out so that CD came with me. God, I listened to that thing so much that a day after I put fresh batteries in, they died. *snort*

Ok, heres my list: I know I'm obsessed when...

1) In physics class I was learning about gravity, and the whole time I was doing the experiment I was singing Gravity to myself.

 

2) I did the same thing when I was learning about waves (I sang Crests of Waves all day)

 

3) When it's time to learn about the speed of sound...all my lab group turns and looks at me as soon as the teacher says tspeed of sound. Then they say "Please, PLEASE don't start singing Coldplay..." while we do an experiment.

 

3)I also do the X and Y thing in my math class like everyday.

 

4) I spend more time talking to my boyfriend about Coldplay and their concerts than i do about him or us.

 

5)I think more about Coldplay than my boyfriend.

 

6) There's this Student Teacher at my school in my english class who looks like Chris...lol...he must think I'm weird b/c he's like 29 and i stare at him the whole period.

 

7) My 4 year old brother has known parts to Coldplay songs ever since he was old enough to talk...he now, thanks to me loves "that one song that goes nobody said it was easy..."

 

8)The 40 year old virgin comes out and as soon as that "you're gay b/c you like Coldplay" line comes on I laugh my ass off and all my friends who know I like Coldplay have used the line on me ever since...I even finish the sentence for them.

 

9) I cried when on friday the 17th i went on to ticketmaster and the screen told me there were no tickets for the concert. I thought they were sold out...but then I realized all the presales had ended 2 hours before and they didnt sell till the next day.

 

10)I almost killed my computer and had a heart attack again when at exactly 10:02 AM, ticketmaster said the best seats left were the nosebleed seats...then I realized I had searched for the wrong prices.

 

11) I automatically, w/out realizing it use lines off of Coldplay songs in everyday conversations.

 

12)I play CP all day at school and home...and POSSIBLY some other band.

 

13) I feel ashamed :embarrased: b/c i feel like I'm an overly obsessed 12 year old (I'm about to be 17) just by looking at my list.

 

:) :) Thats all I can think of now...but there are prob. wayyyyy more I havent seen yet.

1)When you meet a new person, and just 2 minutes into our conversation I ask "Do you like Coldplay?" Oh boy, I sound like my sister. She used to ask everyone she met if they like Backstreet Boys back in 1999 when she was oooobbbsesssseddddd.

 

2) Your conversation with a friend always starts with something new about Coldplay. It's quite sad, really. It's like my only conversation-starter I have. My friend Caitlin is a big Coldplay fan and everyday I walk up to her and I'm like "Did you hear about..."

I'm not sure if I'am nut everybody says I am! I don't think so ! But I do talk alot of Coldplay! :P
